Your trip shows that you can enjoy the same things as wealthier tourists whilst seeking out alternative options. It’s true that from a young age we’re taught that Punta del Este is a place for the wealthy and famous, and that it’s a paradise, and I can see that it is, but you can enjoy it on a tighter budget. If the water there is warm, that’s why people choose it. The combination of the scenery and the lifestyle is brilliant. What a fantastic trip you’ve had to Uruguay, visiting so many beautiful places, it’s been a wonderful opportunity. I’m so happy for you!

Are Young People Forgetting How to Go Out? by @edje

It’s been a while since I read your posts, but I’m glad I didn’t miss this reflection. I was really struck by what you mentioned near the end—that many places ban screens and even have guards to enforce those rules. In this part of the world, or at least in my country, things are very different. People here don't have much money, yet they still celebrate in a big way; as for those who have more, I think they squander it—or rather, they go overboard. I did have a bit too much beer one night last month 😅, but it was a very special evening with loved ones, and we really needed it after sharing stories about our experiences following the earthquake. Yes, we young people should keep finding ways to unwind and have a good time, though I’ve personally chosen to keep a wholesome group of friends and go hiking up the mountain. I suppose it sounds boring, hahaha, but sometimes it helps me relax and recharge just as much as going out to party does

It’s incredible what you’ve told us, everything you do these days, especially in the great outdoors, and your love of nature comes from your grandparents; you’ve inherited all that from them, and your father bought you your first camera at a young age. It’s wonderful, and I was also thinking about how you’re passing on exactly what you learnt to your granddaughter Abi, she, too, enjoys nature and spending time with you both.
Taking photographs of nature is a passion, but as you rightly say, walks help to maintain good health, manage your weight and address any issues you might have. It always helps. I’ve really loved hearing your story, it really defines who you are, as well as the activities you enjoy doing in nature.

I love the way you describe her arrival, the birth of the forest’s daughter, her relationship with her surroundings, and how the other creatures recognise her. It was those enormous eyes that caught my attention, along with the details of what she’s like. What a beautiful fantasy story, yet one that’s also grounded in nature and its lovely details. I’ve loved it, and even more so the artwork that accompanies this story. A fabulous piece of work.

What a wonderful hobby! It’s true that not only can you learn a great deal from this activity, but it can also be very relaxing. It’s certainly true that it requires a great deal of patience and is best enjoyed in places far from the city, such as the countryside or the mountains. I’ve rarely had the chance to do it, but when I have, it’s been marvellous. If there weren’t so much light pollution, the world would see some truly marvellous sights.
It’s also true what you say about protecting your eyes during an eclipse; I read reports that many people suffered irreversible damage to their eyes because they didn’t use the right protection. It must have been a spectacular sight, absolutely magnificent!! Thank you so much for the invitation; I took part at the start of the month, but it’s great to see more people getting involved.
