Today has been a great day as I have spent some good quality time with my son. Once we got back from the Kindergarten we decided that we would build the Lego Minecraft together.
It isn't a big one, but is difficult enough to take some time. I am not sure if it is just a small part of the Minecraft world or like a skybase in Fortnite. But we decided to give it a go.
At first he was building it on his own with just some little guidance from me.
We really like the lego versions of the Minecraft people. They look pretty accurate and cool to play with.
He put the men together himself and the special tools. He is a big fan of Minecraft and knows all about it and especially that you need the Minecoin to use there.
There were 3 main bags of bits to put together and he was doing great finding them and building on his own.
Soon though he started getting tired and then it was up to Dad to continue the building while he was playing with the lego as I was building it π
It was lucky that I have seen the lego film and consider myself a masterbuilder. Important is to make sure you follow the instructions. Sometimes it could be confusing even. lol
In the end I managed to get it all done. I found just 1 missing piece or perhaps I had lost it, but it had luckily a minimal impact.
You can see how it should have looked that we pretty much got it right. After all this lego building, I was inspired to tool up for my home DIY projects that I have running and get some more supplies.
Here you can see some of the things that I bought. I can't wait to get my hands dirty!
Thanks for reading.

This is looking the same as it is showed on the page. How perfectly you and your son has made this. Last week when I was at home and my cousin was sitting with Lego, but I was unable to guide her and we ended up by closing those Lego into bag π
Thats a shame that it didnt work out that time, but im sure she will play when ready :)
Building with Lego is a fun activity. Though it's been a long time but watching it fun as well.
Yeah I thought it would be very easy, but there was a few challenges still. It is fun like the olden days and luckily I have kids so get an excuse to build. π π
hmm u should've put this in the lego community :P. they would've loved to see this
ah, thats a shame, I didnt know there was one.
now u know O.O its initiated by mr galenkp
Oh my man. I have also built some kingdoms when I was a childπ
This was really a fun looking at this blog.
Thanks man, I too enjoy building with these legos. There are so many cool sets around now too.
What a cool way to spend your time with your son. Lovely moment, and will be a fond memory in the future. π₯°

Thanks man. It is great to enjoy these lego moments with my son. I try to treasure them as much as I can.
I loved legos as a kid, I dared endless hours putting together anything I could think of. I love that in this day and age there are still people who have fun the old fashioned way π€©. Loved your post!!!
Thanks, it was some great family time and doing some things in real life. These are moments that we will treasure for a long time. π
There was a day in my class and my students built a lego yacht
It was really lovely and I don't know how to do it
I wish I knew how
Building lego can be so much fun. I am happy to hear they enjoyed it.
Minecraft is a sensation for children and a couple of years ago I bought Minecraft for iOS for my son but sadly he seldom plays minecraft but still watches lots of YouTube videos of minecraft. Your son is lucky that you are taking interest in his lego and minecraft fun stuff.
Thanks. Yes my son also likes to watch Minecraft videos but also still plays the game and lego at the moment. Im not sure how long the interest will last.
Well I think usually in different sort of ways children simply love minecraft so even if your son stops playing minecraft he will be still connected to it via YouTube to the minimum. Children usually love minecraft in the toddler age and then while growing up to 11 years old they still love it and also start playing roblox which my son is doing right now and his cousins of the same age group also play roblox. Roblox is free to play and has more variety in it that is why the interest but minecraft also very popular both games are trending really.

I'm all smiles reading this post. Looks like you guys had fun! A bit of nostalgia for me too. But we had very basic legos back then, no Minecraft for us:-)
Thanks, it was some good father/son time. I feel you there, I just had the basic stuff when I was little. It is so advanced now and they have some really great stuff. Just dont know where you supposed to keep all the bits lol
That looks like a blast! My son used to get some of the very first Minecraft Lego sets, wow it's been a few years! They grow up fast!
Yeah, aint that the truth, I try to enjoy these moments while I can. He wont always want to sit on my knee and do lego when he is older LOL.
They turn into teenagers then adults in the blink of an eye!
That is really cool. I have always loved Legos. They are just so fun and creative. You can do so many things with them. I didn't realize they had Minecraft themed sets. That's really great and an awesome way to bond with your son.
Its amazing to see how it has evolved since I was younger. Now they have some pretty awesome sets. They are also pretty great gifts for kids birthdays too, you cant really go wrong. I think this is the first minecraft one I have built or maybe 2nd, but its pretty cool and I love Minecraft visually, but no good at playing.
My only issue with them these days is how expensive they can get. You are almost better buying the bulk lots off eBay and making your own stuff or using patterns online. That's what my brother in law does.

π£οΈHey Ecencials!!! That man right there is a great Dad. ππ
Thanks man, that is kind of you to say. It is a learning journey each day.
You are welcome sir.
I am yet to be at the stage of building something with my son, but this is the projection that I have in my head. Although I think it is kind of hard to buy the real Lego set here in my country.
Can't wait to see your DIY project.

I hope you will have fun when you do the projects together, they are great moments. I will make a DIY post once I finished :)
So cool, it looks like a mob spawner..
They are cool, Im not sure of the names though as I am not patient enough to play the game. π
Hehe, Its a cool game

That's really nice man, it looks like a cool set and to be fair, Minecraft and Lego work so well.
In a way Minecraft is digital lego, and is meant to be good for kids creativety. I'm looking forward to being able to do things like this with my son - he's only 7 months old at the moment, so as far as playing goes I can only mess around with some of his teddies which makes him laugh when he's in a good mood haha

Ah congrats man, 7mths is a great age and they developing so fast and many development stages happen so quickly. He has made some cool stuff in Minecraft, towers, skybases and what not. You are right, they do go very well together when I think about it. I do love the minecraft stuff, but just cant play the game myself.
Yeah that's true, myself and my partner can't believe how fast the time has flown by either. Recently we were looking at some pictures from when he was only a few days/ weeks old, and the change is crazy, the two of us haven't really noticed the difference in normal day to day life though.
Looks great!
Both my kids love lego and do them all the time. I help occasionally, but usually just sit back and watch them go at it.
Thanks, it was a great afternoon! I wonder how long til my son also doesnt need any help.
my nephew also loves lego. i think he has the mario collection. he always asked mario lego for his birthday and xmas gift. haha
haha thats cool. My son was big into Mario last year. This year it is Minecraft! lol
Yay! π€
