First of all, who is ready to spend money on an outfit? Because if Ladies of Hive ever decides to organize a lavish masquerade meetup, I don't think I will want to attend looking like someone who just came back from the market. Please, let me enjoy myself small!

I would dress as Cleopatra, the famous queen of ancient Egypt, Yes, Cleopatra , I know some people might be wondering why Cleopatra when there are so many other characters and historical figures to choose from, Seriously, I think she would be a perfect choice for the kind of event I am imagining, the woman had style, confidence, and a presence that could make people turn their heads when she walked into a room, and for a masquerade, I want something that will make me feel like I am part of a different world entirely.

Now, let me tell you how I am imagining this outfit because, in my head, I have already attended this event, first, I want a beautiful flowing black and gold gown, i love black, and I think adding gold to it would give the outfit that royal look I am going for the dress would have some beautiful details, nothing too simple, but not so much that I would struggle to walk comfortably, I still want to enjoy the party, dance, take pictures and move around without feeling like I am carrying the entire palace on my body.

Then comes the jewellery. Gold earrings, a beautiful statement necklace, gold bracelets and a lovely headpiece, my makeup would have that bold Egyptian inspired eyeliner, and I would make sure everything comes together beautifully, of course, I would need a little help putting the whole look together because I am not about to start experimenting with my makeup on the day of the event.

And since it is a masquerade, I would also want a beautiful mask that matches the outfit, something elegant, mysterious and attractive enough to make people curious about who is behind it.

But beyond the clothes, I think the reason I would choose Cleopatra is because I love the idea of a woman who knows how to carry herself, Cleopatra was a historical ruler remembered for her political intelligence and ability to navigate a world full of powerful people, there is more to her story than the beautiful dresses and the way movies portray her.

I like the idea of showing up as a woman who represents confidence, intelligence and presence, i may not be a queen ruling over Egypt, but I am still a woman trying to build her own life, learn new things, grow and become better, so, in my own little way, I can connect with that idea of carrying yourself with confidence while figuring life out.

And imagine arriving at the venue and seeing all the beautiful ladies dressed as their favourite characters, some would come as historical queens, others as famous authors, artists or fictional characters, the pictures alone would be worth it ,I can already imagine the conversations, laughter, compliments and everybody trying to guess who each person is.

Honestly, I would enjoy the opportunity to meet fellow Ladies of Hive in person, connect beyond our online interactions and create memories together, wometimes, it is nice to step away from our usual routines and do something different with people who share similar interests.

So yes, Cleopatra it is for me....

Just make sure there is good food, good music and enough time for pictures because I am not dressing like an Egyptian queen just to eat and go home after thirty minutes...

If I am going to attend a lavish masquerade, I might as well enjoy every bit of it!
