Hello, beautiful ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for stopping by my blog. Back to the question of the week, which says, "If you could bring one special dish, drink, or treat to our anniversary table, what would it be, and what is the story or memory that makes it special to you?" So if I'm to bring any food in celebrating the Ladies of Hive community anniversary celebration, I will bring ewudu soup 🍲 and semovite; ewudu is jute in English . for some reasons I feel there is a special thing about this particular food if prepared by me😁.
This food is so dear to my heart ❤️, as it is what made me a married woman today. Funny, right? I know. Let me tell you the story behind it. So during the COVID-19 pandemic, I came back to my hometown because there was no work as of that time.I was working in a different state, so after my school when I went for my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), I took it upon myself to pay for NEPA bills in my family house, so even when away, I sent money every month for that.
So when the pandemic happened, I had to return home because there was no work again. My husband then was a NEPA staff member; he was the assistant service center manager then, so they went out for patrol as usual to disconnect people that hadn't paid their bills. Fortunately for my family then, I was at home, and I had no money, so I went out to plead with him to give me some time to raise money, and for some reason he agreed and didn't disconnect our light.
So later that day, I prepared ewudu soup and samo, and I invited him to come eat in appreciation for not disconnecting our light jokingly. Sha, before I knew it, this man was at my house eating. After that, hmm 🤔, the story changed. The rest became story. And till date that soup remains his favorite. I took a trip to my husband's hometown some weeks ago, and his sister was about to prepare the same soup when I offered to help. After I finished everything, my father-in-law also said something seemed different in the food that day; he said the taste was delicious. I told him that's my husband's favorite, and he was like, "Don't snatch me away from my wife with this delicious soup of yours," and we all laughed.
So this is the food I could bring to the anniversary celebration, because it is my good luck food, and I wouldn't wish less for this amazing community, like the energy here is so encouraging, everyone is family. And I'm excited to be part of the community. Happy anniversary, my favorite. Wishing you more wins and more celebrations in future years. Thank you very much for accepting and accommodating us all. Thank you for reading through.
