They Had My Back LOH #299

I have two friends who has truly changed my view of life. When ever I'm asked, I will mention them without any hasitation. Infact last two years we celebrated our 20 years of friendship anniversary. I have always see them as family, but on this our anniversary date, I found more reasons to see them as my own blood.

There was a time in my life that I was going through serious challenges. And I'm this type of person that will always react when I'm overwhelmed. Sometimes it may be little provocation or even sometimes no provocation at all, I will snap. Those challenging situations really delt with me to the point that I almost lost myself then.

These my loving friends did not leave me alone, they stayed with me. They put up with all my excess, and tolerated my bad behaviours.

On our anniversary, I bought a little gift just to appreciate them and tell them thank you for taking me the way I am. After I have think through my life and how these my two friends stood by me and not judging me. Hmmmmm, little did I know that they had something planned out for me.

When we were celebrating, they jokingly talked about how I treated them back then and what made they stayed. They said "we know that, that's not who you really are, so we decided to see beyond the problem you were facing, and we focused on your good and sweet side".

I broke down in tears and knelt before them and thank them for reminding me that true friendship is not about perfect people, but it's about imperfect people who choose to show understanding and to stay. I also thank God for blessing me with these two beautiful souls who choose to see me and not my mistakes, and choose to always have my back no matter the situation.

I love those beautiful souls and even have pets names for them, but I will not disclose that 🥰🥰🥰. I see them as one of the most precious gifts that life has given me. And I can not trade their friendship for anything in this world.

This year will mark our 22 years of friendship and we are still waxing strong. I choose to cling to them for life because they once hold me up when I could not even hold myself. I'm grateful for life, I'm grateful to have them and forever is our target.
