LOH- The Friendship That Taught Me the True Meaning of Friendship.#299

I know that friendship is one of life's greatest blessings, and I am fortunate to have a friend who has been a blessing to me,she has stood by me through every season of life.

I met Blessing during our secondary school years then I was much younger.
we were both in the same boarding school.
I remember how frightened I felt when I was taken to a boarding school,as a newcomer to a boarding school, everything felt unfamiliar, uncomfortable and overwhelming. For some reason though I don't know how and why,Blessing had more experience than I did, and she knew that indeed I was lost, instead of leaving me to figure things out on my own, she took me under her wing. She taught me everything I needed to know about hostel life,the unwritten rules, consequences of being ignorance etc. She showed me how to avoid unnecessary punishment, and helped me through the challenges of being away from home. Her patience and willingness to help made my stay easier.

As time went on,we had our disagreements and quarrels. There were moments when we upset each other and I felt like not talking to her again,but what made our friendship special was that she never stopped caring for me. Even when we went silent on each other, she always checked on me, encouraged me, and remained loyal. With time, our friendship grew beyond that of ordinary friends—we became sisters by choice.Because of us out parents get to know each other and what started as a friendship between two girls turned our parents into family friends.

What left the deepest impression on me was her consistency.I remember vividly days I was sick,she would helped me out with my morning duties.
Washed my clothes and even took blame for me .She proved that true friendship is not about comfort always but a decision to love, forgive, and stand by each other.by her actions I understood what unconditional love looks like
Today, many years later, we are both married, and our children have become friends too. Sometimes they laugh over our old pictures together.Seeing the bond continue into the next generation reminds me of how precious and enduring genuine friendship can be.

Blessing indeed changed my view about friendship.I now know that true friends are rare treasures. They do not run away when challenges arise; rather, they remain present, giving support, care, and love. Because of Blessing, I have learned the importance of being loyal, forgiving, and intentional in my own relationship.
This has shaped my life positively even in my marriage.
Her friendship has been a lifelong blessing, and I will always be grateful for the day our paths crossed.
