DOS AND DON'TS. LOH #246

We had a lot of things to be scared of while growing up, stories that would literally make you skin crawl because of how cringe and scary they are. My mum told us a lot of dos and don'ts pertaining to this whole superstition thing and till this day I don't know if some are real or made up. If you're not careful your subconscious automatically rings and reminds you about it.

I finished eating that day and decided to sweep the floor because there were some grains of rice on the floor and my aunt told me it was forbidden and that I have to leave the food on the floor there, according to her it signifies abundance to those who have nothing to eat as they will have something to eat for that night, I left the food there till the next morning admist laughter and shock. The next morning the grains were still they and she said it doesn't matter.

Or was it when I put of joy blew a whistle at night and my mum screamed as if she saw a ghost and said it is forbidden to blow whistles at night as it may attract evil spirits to oneself. I was both shocked and In need of answers, but like I said, till this day I do not know what all those mean, although I have heard stories of how they originated, I don't think I remember anyone and I think it's time to ask my mum for that story again. ( How this whole don't whistle and clearing grain of rice at night came about).
