LOH Community Contest #293 ~ My Next Birthday

Do you like celebrating your own birthday? Or are you more of a celebrator of other people's birthdays? What would you like to do for your next birthday?

I was never the kind of girl who loved to celebrate her birthday may be because I didn't grow up in a home that celebrated birthday or stopped celebrating their children birthdays when they got to a certain age, so celebration of birthdays didn't mean anything to me, I was just okay with "Happy Birthday to you" not until I returned to my hometown and met with people who saw their birthday as a big deal, I came in contact with people who never forget to celebrate their birthdays every year.

They go out on a solo date on their birthday, do photoshoots every year, and were consistent about it, love the intentional call or message and post wishing them a "happy birthday", and maybe a thoughtful gift to accompany it, if any, and taking them out too. At first it felt alien to me, because I just couldn't understand "What is the big deal about it", I mean I always love my solitude especially on my birthday but moving with these people and the eagerness in my face, heart, and feet whenever it approaches their birthday makes me smile uncontrollably and I am not going to lie, for the first time this year, I wanted same thing.

Well, due to my kind of friends, I started anticipating their birthdays, and for a few I helped in making whatever thought they had envisioned for their birthday materialize, I helped in the shoe choosing, dress choosing, or combination to fit, styles, and another thing they want for themselves.

For someone who never bothers about her own birthday, I made a mental note to always remember their birthdays and tried to wish them without being told again, although it felt hard at first, over time, I got used to it, so it doesn't look selfish of me because it felt weird to not be able to reciprocate.

This year which was May 24th precisely, I wanted the same thing, I wanted to know what it felt like to be eager to approach one's birthday, although I envisioned it but life had other plans waiting for me. Found myself in so much financial debt that I couldn't make any plan for myself.

Although, this year's birthday has passed, I will be shifting all the plans I had for this year to next year, and for next year, I will be doing a full glamour, makeup, and different dress-ups. I plan to use ankara trousers, denim trousers, and maybe a corporate dress, cake, and a photoshoot, maybe get myself birthday gifts, like I planned this year, and also take myself out on a date.
