An unforgettable Christmas holiday:(LOH #266)

My family usually celebrates the Christmas holiday in my village, so I decided to join my parents to witness the celebration in my village on the faithful Christmas holiday. I am from Igbo land, precisely Imo State Nigeria. On that special day, our family at large normally returned from the city with their families, friends, etc to celebrate that great day.

However, we cooked different types of food to entertain our Guests like, fried rice, soups with samonila or pounded yam, fruits, assorted types of drinks, pepper meat, and pepper soup. It is really a remarkable celebration that one cannot forget easily because of the enjoyment that we experienced that day. We also decorated the whole compound with beautiful flowers, with different colors of materials like red, white, etc., and some fantastic shiny bulbs that make the compound look more attractive. Also, we played games ate, and played together as a happy family, including our Quests, we also visited our neighbors, and our neighbors also reciprocated. Wow, it was really good. Some people I have seen for the past years or I don't know we knew ourselves and interacted together and exchanged contact.

After that, we the youth gathered together and agreed to go to our local stream to have fun and swim. Even our neighbors also went with us, some parked their dirty Clothes to be washed, some with their swimming trunks and pants with drinks and a Ball to play and we enjoyed ourselves. Unestly it was fun all through.

Another exciting moment again during that period was the (IKORO DANCE.) This IKORO DANCE in my village always came during the festive period. And it has a fixed date that nobody can change due to the culture and traditions of the land or community. The celebration is another fantastic moment I have ever encountered.
These involved people from my community and beyond. This occasion or celebration units and brought our people together, for these celebrations, people take enough holiday to enjoy themselves,
The ( King and his Cabinet)l came and they played the (IKORO DANCE) for them to dance, to usher them in and some of the Elders of the community, This IKORO DANCE is not meant for everybody but only for the Elders and the titled men, and no wowan is allowed to dance it. In this celebration, the big Guys in town came out and sprayed them with money while they are dancing, Dollars even pounds depending on your level or your pocket. In this celebration, I saw magicians, comedians musicians displaying their talent. It was a very wonderful and interesting moment. Each of the age grade groups by group with their wives and their children the dressed in their suffocated attires demonstrating from one group to another, cheering , themselves and singing songs of Joy. A great interment of my life is still fresh in my memory.
The sweetest of it all was that during these celebrations, my cousin was lucky enough to meet the LOVE of her life. Halaluya! Glory.
