GIVE ME SOME VARIETY #312

If there is one time I do not like stability, it is in the weather condition of the environment. A lot of people would love stability but definitely not me. I mean it seems good to know and plan for the rainy, dry or harmattan season over here, however, I feel it just makes the whole thing long. I mean the thought of experiencing a single season for three, four or six months is tiring and terrifying to me. What do you mean that there will be no rain for the next three to six months, what do you mean that we will be having an epileptic weather condition for the next four months, this is the kind of stability I just tend to hate.

I feel these kinds of stability makes life boring. I mean I love that feeling of waking up in the morning to a heavy downpour after the previous day was a very hot day. I love unpredictability, it forces us to adjust, think and grow discipline because there are times when you would feel like the entire world is against you and that unpredictability will either prove you wrong or right. This has happened to me in the past when I was really sick and suddenly it started raining. I entered the rain and by the time I came out, I was very okay. Sounds strange right, It was strange to me too.

I believe life is more beautiful when things are unpredictable and it would also make us appreciate the beauty of life. The fact that you don’t know what is coming tomorrow makes you prepare for anything. When it’s the rainy season we appreciate the sun if it comes in between and complain about the rain, when it is the dry season we appreciate the rain and complain about the sun, when it is hamattan we wish for it to go quickly, this shows that unconsciously we do not want too much of everything and that is why unpredictability is good. But this doesn’t mean we will love it all the time, imagine closing from work and wanting to leave early then it starts raining and you don’t have a car hehe… But then again, I still love it.
