A few years ago, I craved more balance—between work, health, and the environment. That’s when I slowly started changing how I lived. Today, I grow my own food—small steps like planting spinach, bok choy, mint, Indian borage, spring onions, chili, turmeric and curry leaves. I even grow flowers for a touch of color. It’s not just about the harvest—though nothing beats the taste of homegrown greens—it’s about reconnecting with what nourishes me.
Learning to eat what I grow has also made me more intentional. I’ve started meal-prepping on weekends, making it easier to eat wholesome food during the busy weekdays.
Freelancing gives me the freedom to live this way. With flexible hours, I can make time for things that keep me grounded, morning yoga, meditation, and caring for my plants. It’s my way of hitting reset every day.
I’ve also begun composting—small kitchen scraps that would’ve gone into the bin now become organic matter for my soil. and i am working on improving the quality of soil. It’s a small act, but it feels good to reduce waste and give back to the earth.
This lifestyle is about presence. It’s about doing what I can to live slower, simpler, and more aligned with what matters.
