Spreading Love and Joy: My Friend’s Birthday

What's that feeling you get from making people happy? The one that puts a big smile on your face, but nobody gets it?

There are many words in the English lexicon, but none aptly describes this beautiful feeling.

The feeling is indescribable. You just can't help but smile knowing you made someone happy. With all the crazy things going on out there in people's lives, putting a smile on people's faces is a big deal, bigger than we think or give ourselves credit for.

You know when you get too excited and you pause everything to live in the moment? Yes, that's what happened yesterday. I was too excited to write and almost missed curating for DIYhub. Yeah, my joy was overflowing, it was on another level, but hey, I had to come out of that bubble.

So, yesterday was my friend's birthday, she began the day feeling gloomy, just the way I usually feel whenever it's my birthday.
She had no plans whatsoever. My friend is an introvert pulling her out always seems like a big chore, but I did it, and she had an amazing time.

We celebrated at a restaurant, and she was all smiles, her mood moving from 0 to 100. I mean, that was the plan right? Get her into the birthday spirit whilst celebrating alongside.

The highlight of my day was her reminiscing about all her birthdays and the little birthday traditions we've kinda created for ourselves, unknown to us. It's been five years of celebrating her birthday together consistently, and every year feels different and more special, bigger and better than the previous one.

She's one of the few people I call a friend, and I am glad we get to share an important day in her life together.

We laughed, cracked jokes, ate, took pictures, danced, smiled a lot, and did every silly thing two happy people could do. It was truly an amazing day, and I felt, really really good. I was also grateful for the few people that were present in the restaurant, it made it easier to unwind.

It's rewarding to be a kind and sweet person, as everyone deserves to be loved, no matter how big or little the gesture may be, just do it without expecting anything in return as that kills the essence of the gesture.

In conclusion, I had an amazing day, and I am so glad that I can save such a beautiful memory on this immutable blockchain, it feels so good!
