people need to know that their efforts are going to a place where they're going to be needed As in so many other instances, the Venezuelan earthquake was yet another reminder that natural disasters are not bound by borders, languages, or politics.

In just a few minutes, families can lose everything, communities can be devastated and children can lose their basic right to life.

I don't think in terms of numbers, or news headlines when I think of the children who were impacted by this tragedy. I think of children trying to sleep without a blanket and scared by the tremors, sitting in the dark where there is no electricity. It's at times like these that the use of simple things, such as blankets and flashlights, can symbolize hope.

The question now is how to maintain the door open for donations from other countries so that Venezuela can benefit from the assistance it urgently requires.
Transparency is my first step, I think.

We are generally good-hearted, but also want to know how we spend our money. Only through established humanitarian organizations with clear reporting systems that reliable donations can be received. But governments and big charities are not the only places for donations to end. Fundraisers may be organized at community, school, church, business, or online.

As long as thousands join in, even small efforts can mean so much! but, it's important to keep in mind that recovery doesn't stop when the news cameras are gone. Needs that could be top priority include blankets, food, flashlights, and medical supplies, but support for rebuilding homes, schools, and communities will likely be needed for months, if not years.
To me this is what humanity should look like globally.

It is impossible to stop all earthquakes, and No one can undo all the tragedies that occured But we can choose that no child should feel excluded because Compassion should be our common language in times like these but Donating out of the heart is giving with generosity, transparency and purpose, and it is not just about sending supplies; it's about sending hope.

Sometimes, the best gift a child can get after losing everything is hope.
