The Movie That Quietly Rewired How I Love #285

I have seen a lot of people always saying that they love to watch romance movies just because of the happy ending it usually gives them. Personally, before I had a different motive for watching for something I couldn't name yet. While I was growing, the love I saw around me was through endurance and provision. Love as duty, not choice. No one really sat me down to tell me that this is how I should stay without losing myself.

I could remember watching this movie, A Walk to Remember. On our TV back then, not so big anyway. I got to watch it like two times before I could finish it due to unstable light. But up till now, I'm still feeling that movie because I wasn't caught by the love. But it was how the boy changed. In a very slow and real way. He didn't make any noise about it. Nobody pushed him before he became better. All I saw was that he became better due to the fact that love showed him a version of himself he had never encountered before.

This still stays with me anytime I remember. Because in our world today, I always see how people rush into a relationship and rush out the same way, or worse, or even become bitter because they have no better understanding of what real love is. After I watched that movie a long time ago, maybe because I was still young, it didn't teach me to find love. What I gained from it is to always pay attention to what love is quietly doing to the person that I am becoming. And this I still do today, and it is really helpful to me.

Thank you for reading.
