People sometimes, I think, like to think the worst of others, especially if for some reason, they are envious. Perhaps that might have been the case; envious of what she perceived as you not doing anything. Anyway, I am happy you were vindicated in the end. Nobody knows what it's like for any one person until they walk a mile in their shoes, and most times, they don't really want to do that.
