For this week, I will go with prompt 1.

A time someone made a wrong assumption about me? It happened last year.

I was working from home. I was always indoors, on my laptop, not going out like other women in my area. So my neighbor assumed I was lazy and jobless. She even told another neighbor "That girl just stays at home pressing phone, she does not want to hustle."

What she did not know was I was freelancing. I was designing, writing, staying up till 2am to meet deadlines. I was making money, but because my work was not a shop or office, she thought I was doing nothing.

It hurt me so much when I heard it. I felt angry and small. I wanted to go and explain everything to her, show her my laptop work. But I just kept quiet.

Later that month, her daughter needed a flyer for her school business. She had no choice but to come to me. She was shocked when I told her my price and showed her my previous jobs. That was when she realized I was actually working hard.

I did the flyer for her daughter for free. She apologized that day. She said "I thoought you weere just lazyy, I did not knoow."

That experrience tauught me somethingg. People will always assume without knowing facts. You cannot control their assumptions, but you can control your peace.

Now when people assume wrong about me, I don't rush to defend. I let my results speak. Timme alwayss reveeals the trutth.
