The Power Of Tech; Turning Skills Into Global Opportunities

In today’s world, building a strong foundation in technical skills isn’t just a smart move, its very essential for everyone both the young and the advanced. Technology has gone far beyond just phone and laptop, it has deepened into every part of our lives from healthcare to business to agriculture, education and even art. And the most exciting part about technology is that it continues to open doors and create opportunities that didn’t even exist a few years, and this opportunities have been a life saver since then.

Take gig community for example and a pure example is the hive platform—a few years ago I never knew about this platform untill my onboarder introduced me to it, and since then I have dived into different communities, learnt alot and also gained alot financially. My sister works as a freelancer and also some international companies through her phone and laptop and her pay is really worth it, recently she got promoted to being the manager of her team and again the sweetest part is her salary also got increased, she has got data allowance every week so she doesn’t even need to worry about buying data, and on weekends she doesn’t work also its a remote job.

Although, technology has democratized learning, people no longer have to stress about to going to university to learning things like coding, content creation, digital marketing, data analysis etc. platforms like YouTube, Coursera and Udemy now offer high-quality education and its made accessible to everyone at low-cost.

Personally I have seen how technology did not just elevate careers but also lives, living in Nigeria isn’t easy at all with the 9-5 jobs with small money as salary, early I mentioned how my sister bagged a remote job and the pay is worth it, I have tapped into tools like ChatGPT, Canva and Meta business. This tools have really helped in my daily live and also in my cake business, I use canva in designing somethings, yes I went to offline baking class but trust I have gotten so many recipes and ideas from apps like Tiktok and Instagram, while I use WhatsApp business for customer interaction and sales, I also use bank apps and payment apps for seemless payment options making transactions more easier.

In closing, we live in a time where anyone can thrive in they’re willing to learn and adapt, so whether you’re student, a business owner, or a job seeker, investing in tech skills and embracing digital tools might just be the key to unlocking your next big opportunity.
