Laughter, My Medicine || LOH #270

“Laughter is a medicine for the soul.” I don’t think I can go 24 hours without laughing or smiling. My friends will always say it’s so easy to get me laughing. I take that as a compliment because I prefer that over it's easy to get you angry. Laughter is indeed a medicine for my soul. It makes me feel lighter and happier, but sometimes my stomach hurts from laughing too much. I also sometimes tear up from too much laughter, but I don't prefer it any other way, actually.

I think many things make me laugh in life. One of them is spending time with my family mostly with my dad. I am not mincing words when I say my dad is the funniest person in my life. He cracks me up effortlessly. Most times I could be going through a long and tough day and just a few seconds on the phone with my dad, I am laughing at one of his jokes. I am not the only one who thinks my dad is a funny person because even his friends and acquaintances also get to laugh when they are with him.

Spending time with my siblings and talking about our childhood memories most times makes me laugh. I spent some time with all my siblings this Christmas. Since everyone was home most nights, we would spend time chatting, and the majority of the time, I was gasping for breath and tearing up cause most memories are so funny when we remember and talk about them. These little conversations get me laughing and make me happy.

Another thing that makes me laugh in life, is some inside jokes that I have with the most important people in my life. For instance, I have a friend and whenever I am on a call with him, he makes me laugh with his jokes, sometimes we laugh at each other's experiences, like I said little things make me laugh and I think I surround myself with people that cracks me up. So sometimes there are certain things my friends would say and I am laughing effortlessly.

Comedy movies, also get me laughing for instance the TV show Big Bang Theory gets me laughing, and I enjoy seeing shows similar to that as well. I also think some memes online crack me up effortlessly and I tend to imagine how some people think of these memes cause they are so funny.

I don’t think I would find it great spending time with people who do not laugh or smile as that is something that is part of me. I am either having a smile on my face or laughing especially when I am with friends and family.

I believe that laughter and smiling will make you younger, so I would love to laugh more cause Laughter is a medicine to my soul and I choose it over anything. So I am always going to prioritize anything that makes me laugh and happy over anything else.
