I both love jackfruit and passion fruit, considered to be among my favorite fruits! I lived in Northern Luzon wherein those fruits are accessible. My Manila friends got weirded out with the passion fruit because they can't fathom swallowing seeds.
Marang I think is more common in the South of the Philippines (i.e. Mindanao), similar to Durian.
that is funny to think that your friend can imagine eating the passion fruit with the seed.
