Kpop And Power: Kpop Demon Hunters Review.

I was in the Neoxian City discord server about three weeks ago when @merit.ahama tagged me and her sister to go watch this animated movie titled K-Pop, Demon Hunters, at first, I was like, “Hmm okay, this one that they added ‘K-pop’ and ‘Demon’ together, what exactly are they trying to cook?” But omo, they did cooked well, as in the movie is topnotch.

Let me just start with this , if you love flashy visuals, girl power, fighting scenes, and of course, good music, then this is the kind of animation that will hold you in , so the movie is centered around a badass all-girls K-pop group who, by day, are just super famous idols, doing their thing on stage, but when night falls or whenever need be, they become real demon hunters, Like literal demon slayers, you see them go from high heels to full-on demon-slaying boots, and I was just like, “Wow, this is giving everything that it is meant to give.”

The storyline was actually easy to follow, nothing too complicated, but it is the style and the vibe that carried it for me, the animation itself? CLEAN, Like, no dragging, the effects were bright and sharp, the fight choreography was coordinated, and everything just flowed with the music so well, you see whoever worked on the visuals knew what they were doing , they combined the K-pop aesthetic , think glitter, colorful hair, bold outfits with this supernatural vibe that just made everything pop so much.

Yeah... I really liked the three girls in the band, Each of them had their own personality and also their backstory, but they worked together like true sisters There is that scene where one of them was trying to handle the demon by herself, and the others came in like, “Girl we are doing this together.” That part touched me because it showed that even though they had their own issues, they were still united you get.Then the saja boys demon band too just made the movie so nice, I have nothing bad to say on this movie because I really enjoyed it NGL. I really did.

Then the music was Fire, the blend of K-pop songs with fight scenes made everything even more intense, It was giving BTS-meets Blade energy, lol...... I even found myself humming one of the tunes the next day ,that is how catchy it was.

Now, what surprised me the most was how emotional it got at some points, There is one part where one of them had to face a demon linked to her past ,see I won’t spoil it, but let us just say that small tears formed, The emotional depth was not something I was expecting, especially for an animation like this, But I love when something that looks all glittery on the outside still has depth inside, that balance between cute and dark was kinda beautiful.

After watching, I started wishing there was a series for it because the characters still have so much story to tell, I mean like the One hour plus wasn’t enough for me, smh... They need to give us more, see Netflix or whoever needs to greenlight that immediately, I even started checking if they had merch or official soundtracks because, yes, I have become a fan.

So yeah, that is my take, if you haven’t seen K-Pop Demon Hunters yet and you are a fan of anything anime, K-pop, or just cool fight scenes with music, then you should go and look for it, trust me, it is a vibe and a half.
