Of late, I have been using my free time to learn some Korean words, and I must say it has been quite an interesting experience for me, what surprises me the most is that before the words are even pronounced in the app, I already have an idea of what they are or how they should sound, sometimes I get them right, and honestly, it makes me feel proud of myself.

The funny thing is that I didn't intentionally set out to learn Korean, it all happened because I recently went back to watching Korean dramas again, anyone who watches K dramas regularly will understand what I mean, the more you watch them, the more certain words begin to stick in your head without you even trying.
All thanks to my very recent return to watching Korean dramas, I have noticed that my knowledge of the language has improved, from late last month till now, I have watched two series that really kept me entertained, one is called Castle Beauty and the other is called My Royal Nemesis.
I must say, both series played a huge role in brushing up my Korean knowledge, while watching them, I found myself recognizing words and phrases that used to sound completely foreign to me, simple expressions that I would normally wait for subtitles to explain now sound familiar the moment I hear them.
There were even times when a character would start speaking and before I looked at the subtitle, I already had an idea of what was being said, that feeling is actually very satisfying because it shows that I am learning, even if it is little by little.
What I find interesting about learning Korean through dramas is that it does not feel like studying, It just feels natural and fun, instead of sitting down with books for hours trying to memorize words I am learning Korean while enjoying stories, characters, romance, comedy and all the drama that comes with Korean series.
Of course, I am still far from being able to speak Korean fluently, let me not get too ahead of myself like this, but compared to where I was before, I can confidently say there has been progress, seriously, the more I watch, the more familiar the language becomes really , the more familiar the language becomes, the easier for me it is to learn new words, and the easier it becomes to learn new words, the more motivated I feel to continue, at this point, I do not plan on stopping at all
In fact, I think I am enjoying the process even more like this, because I can see the results, every new word I recognize just feels like a small achievement, and those small achievements really make me want to keep going, ehnnn who knows? maybe one day I will be able to hold a very simple conversation in Korean without relying on subtitles.
For now, though, I am happy learning one word at a time, one drama at a time, and enjoying every moment of the journey, sometimes the best way to learn something new is just through something that you already love, and for me, K dramas have always already become exactly that.
