Melodic Mayhem: A Review Of "Huntrix's Songs" In "Kpop Demon Hunters"
The buzz about "Kpop Demon Hunters" is not dying out anytime soon and it's still one of the best animation movie I've seen that lived up to it's hype. Some time ago, I shared thoughts on my best characters from the movie which you will find here and today, I thought to share my review on the soundtracks that I think will be legendary.
It's a surprise to find a movie this short (1.30 hours) with this much soundtracks (about 9 songs, I think) to give viewers a better experience. For me, the songs are the best part of this movie and I think it's worth talking about them so this review is on the songs done by Huntrix. Will try to make one for saja boys songs.
The title of the movie already tells us it's a movie with songs, melodic sounds to defeat demons. I know many might have thought about this, the use of songs to defeat demons is a perfect method. Even the Bible teaches us the importance of praising God with songs to scatter the plans of the evil one. This movie explains it.
So from my last but not the least favourite, this is my review on the songs by the kpop girl group, Huntrix in Kpop Demon Hunters. You can also share in the comment section what your order of their songs looks like but these are mine. If you're yet to see the movie, this is another cue for you.
Huntrix - Strategy
Not my best from all their masterpiece songs but it's definitely worth mentioning for many reasons. It's a song by the real life girl band, Twice who also sang the other song "Takedown" for the movie. The song has a nice beat and I think it was played in the most perfect scene, where they were preparing for a grand music launch. I have all the songs to my playlist except this but doesn't make it less for who has it as a favourite.
Huntrix's Mantra - Score Suite
I remember my first watching the movie, I didn't put much listening to this mantra song in the beginning but after a few clips on YouTube and rewatching the movie, it just keeps giving me goosebumps whenever I listen to it. No much words but the little words said by the vocals were everything to understand what the Huntrix stands for from the first generation. It's my last of all Huntrix's songs but it's still a nice musical treat.
Huntrix - Takedown
I think the whole process of making this song in the movie affected my view of the song. Considering that Rumi started to see things from a demon perspective and thought their approach to defeat the demons should be more about love instead of violence, as the songs says. It made this song too much for the storyline especially the scene demons sang it with Rumi. But it's still one of my best, I totally love the beat and melody.
Huntrix - How It Sounds Like
This could have easily be my top choice if the next two didn't exist in the movie lol, I know that's weird to say. But it goes to say, this song is a perfect sound. From the lyrics, the scene, the humming from the crowd and the victory at the end of the song, it's a good one. The humming part of the song where the crowd added a sound from "Golden" is my favourite part. The song that reunited the Huntrix and defeated demon Gwima.
Huntrix - How It's Done
This song right here is a banger! A whole vibe and shows this great amount of confidence, power and self love. It's lyrics does match the few lyrics in the Huntrix's mantra so it's kinda like the song that introduces Huntrix as not just kpop singers but demon hunters. I still think the band name, Huntrix was a perfect selection for this movie hehe. And who can forget Rumi's beautiful voice belting the song before the song ended?
Huntrix - Golden
The best of all, a pure masterpiece and a story well told. It's also the most technical song for vocalists, from what I've seen since the release of the movie. The high pitches taken by Rumi sure made vocalists all over the world to go on a new discovery with their voices. A vocalist said "Golden can be used as a song for vocal exercise" lol. I love how beautiful the song sounds and the story it tells about the singers.
