Discovering The World Of K-Fashion And Beauty

Everything I've learned and known about Korea and their way of life is from their movies as I spend most of my movie time seeing different dramas from them. Other times, I watch their reality shows, casual video clips and listen to their music. These have taught me about them.

After K-Drama, another side of Korea I'm very much interested in and love to explore whenever I get the chance is, their fashion and beauty. I'm not one to spend too much time on how I look or what I wear and I admire it when people do little but still look outstanding with their appearance.

My K-Fashion Discovery

The K-Fashion world is a big world on it's own with so much for me to learn from, especially the modesty that comes with it. Yeah, I know some of their fashion wears can look very indecent but I've always admired the ones that modest and still make the wearers look really outstanding.

It's one thing to dress, it's another to feel comfy and beautiful with your dress style. A lot of the Koreans, from the movies I've seen, only spend more time on what to wear when they want to go out on a date and how most of them still come out looking simple and comfy is amazing to me.

I saw the kdrama "The Fabulous" some months ago and I couldn't stop admiring the fashion displays and even the kind of wears the female lead had on throughout the series. Honestly, the drama wasn't one of the best I've seen but their fashion and the beauty styles kept me till the end.

Whoever have seen the 2024 kdrama "The Judge From Hell" will agree with me that the female lead in it ate with her fashion style. How do one look beautifully evil? Fashion made it possible and I'll give it to those behind the closet for that series fashion, it's my best fashion drama yet.

My K-Beauty Discovery

The K-Beauty world is a world that compliments the K-Fashion world best and it's a really fascinating one because I'm not one that is good with makeovers or even being very intentional about body skin care products. It's nice to see the Koreans place importance in their beauty care.

From skin care products like body cream, oil and hair oil to their makeover products especially the lipsticks, I've always wondered how better I'd look if I could get my hands on them. I know our skin types are different, I still wish I could have access to them, especially their hair oils and lipsticks lol.

When I think of beauty and makeovers, the drama "Oh My Venus" comes to mind, the slow and exciting journey of the female lead from being too fat to becoming slimmer was really satisfying to see. It's a beauty to gain one's body shape back after a long time of discipline and pain.

The use of makeovers in "True Beauty" kept me glued to my screen, I mean, there was no plastic surgery involved in her own transformation but I know it had a lot to do with the disfigure they gave her face in the beginning. But it was very exciting to see how well she used those lipsticks and lipgloss to look very beautiful and simple.

I'm still trying to discover more into the world of K-Fashion and beauty, it's an exciting one really.
