My First Taste of Korean Came Through Music

Greetings to everyone, i believe we're doing great and our weekend is starting well because weekend has started here in Nigeria. This prompt is an amazing one, and thinking back on how i come across Korean first was a deep thinking. I have to flash back on how the whole Korea started in my heariy. After so much thinking, i remember what crossed my heart to Korea in the first place. It was actually music, I really do not remember the year again, but i know very well that it was through music that Korea crossed my path.

Back then, i love listening to music alots, though i wasn't really searching for music or anything. It was one of my friends that share a song, and out of curiosity of saying what kind of song did she sent, I clicked and that's how the whole thing start. Immediately the song started playing, i was like, what kind of song is this that i could not even hear or understand the language, though the lyrics was fine, and the beats was nice and interesting, but different from the normal afrobeat i'm used to and the performance also felt like a whole new world, language is korea that i did not understand.

After listening to the song once, because i enjoyed the beats, i decided to put it on replay for me to keep listening to the song and from there i started loving the song, with time, i started exploring more, my passion for the song also increases and i started notice in the way the artist performed, the creativity in their videos, and the way they blended modern sound with a culture that was clearly unique. After sometimes, i started learning little about Korea, their value, and so on.

Today, Korean music isn't just entertainment for me again, it has become a reminder that art in the universal. I now enjoy everything about Korea, be it their drama, fashion, and even food. I've tried all this out. Now I don't need to understand what the music is talking about before i connect with the feelings.

Though i've started discovering more side of korea that go beyond music, part of it is k-drama, korea food, korea fashion and so on and i know there are still more i'm yet to discover which i'll soon discover very soon.
