Floods in Ciudad Bolívar Venezuela year 2018

Currently Venezuela is going through a series of tropical waves that have caused prolonged rains bringing consequences overflows of rivers, lakes, lagoons, landslides; causing the loss of human lives; of people who are walled up inside their houses and do not have time to get out due to the floods. Affecting urban and rural areas of much of Venezuela; such as the Tejerias located in the state of Aragua are experiencing a tragedy where many people lost their lives; others lost their homes due to the heavy rains that have fallen in the country in recent days.

In 2018, due to the intense rains that fell in Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela, they caused the overflow of the Orinoco River, reaching the streets of my city, causing great flooding and people who lost their homes due to these rains.

How do they cause ruin?
The ruin comes when natural disasters cause human losses of people who unfortunately do not manage to get out in time from floods and landslides; as well as when the inhabitants of a place lose their material goods and find themselves in the situation of not having a house to live in due to being flooded...

Apart from losing their material goods, and the lives of their loved ones, this situation psychologically affects people, feeling fearful and vulnerable in the face of various situations that may arise, in the same way, in this situation of loss, they do not know where to start again. or they simply lose the will and the desire to rebuild; until they get over it and slowly begin the process of rebuilding their lives.

Unfortunately, the Venezuelan government does not manage disaster prevention policies and therefore people do not prepare for such situations and suffer the worst consequences when these natural phenomena occur.

For the prevention of disasters, it is recommended that people be placed in high places at more than 30 meters above sea level; in the same way avoid approaching the coasts, riverbeds; Monitor water levels.

Build shelters where people can stay safe while the natural phenomenon passes. Keep the drains of the streets and avenues of the city working optimally in order to avoid flooding.

Honestly the flooding is not a situation to experience , it is a situation that is heartbreaking and it hurts me so much , especially when nothing can be done to totally stop it since it is a natural disaster , but at least the good news is that it possible that it can be managed to a level that the destruction will be minimal compared to when there is no effective steps taken to combat it..
