16 of 27 tracked posts made it to this week's issue of the "Week on Hive" roundup. A couple of them may be cross-posted in the Hive News community without being included in this news roundup.
In the Spotlight
Let's Start with Splinterlands This Week
Matt disclosed their big-projects plans for the second half of the year.
Many of them are focused on making things attractive to new players, so that they stick around. We will have a new Foundation format where new players will be thrown right after completing their Campaign mode tutorial and where only cards from the Foundation set could be used (at that point, they could be leveled up, but will have lower max levels than normal cards).
A Guilds overhaul may finally come this year, although it has been teased many times before. But somehow, I believe this year will be different. They achieved almost everything they set their minds to and declared publicly as targets in the first half of the year. So... maybe we shifted to fewer promises and more deliveries.
The Guild overhaul would pretty much integrate that system with everything in the game, from land to all the other formats. But they haven't clearly defined what they want to do with this yet.
Skins and Cosmetics is the only thing pushed to the second half of the year from the targets of the first half. There is an explanation: they need to update it, to take into consideration Black foil and Arcane cards, which weren't planned when Skins and Cosmetics was designed.
Another big project for second half of 2025 is Achievements and Quests. Daily quests make a comeback, but not in the form we had them before. They will be very diverse, and not necessarily focused on battles or a specific format. Two examples that Matt gave were: "add some liquidity to a pool" and "play in a tournament".
The Campaign Mode will be extended to have a PvE format for everyone. "Boss fights" was teased again. Maybe we had a preview (and a test) with that challenge against the troll from the Campaign Mode.
Another piece of news is that the new soulbould reward cards for Conclave Arcana will come out in 3-4 months. That's how long we still have Rebellion SB reward cards still available!

The marketing campaign and fruits of the development of the first half of year seem to show off already. Here's the influx of new players from the last month (only the ones with spellbook purchases get a Hive account):

The short clip shows a glimpse into what must mean to be a volunteer at the Hive Hub Hotel in Guatemala. Of course, all that in a tropical paradise... so time off must be fun.
NFTOPIA 5 in August
NFTOPIA 5 will be held online on August 16-17. There is an announcement for those who want a free logo space on Hive's large (virtual) booth. Also small booths and AMA presentations are still for sale.

I haven't been following this community lately, but looks like they are a tight, active (just by looking at that room full of people) community, and... they have their own front end.

Distriator - Getting Ready for Eccomerce
Businesses using Distriator now have the possibility to show a product catalog and have the Point of Sale option, from where they can request payments. So... Distriator can be used directly (now or in the close future) to make payments, without a 3rd party (other than Hive Keychain maybe?). Here are some more details.

Full History Chart For Hive-Engine Tokens
From the same Swarm of Swarms (@thecrazygm might have shared it on his blog too), I've taken a look at the updates to their Market-Viewr. Did you know you can have a full history chart for Hive Engine tokens there? It would help if we could comparatively see how HIVE was doing relative to USD at the same time, maybe?
He also made some updates prompted by community feedback to their curation tool. I took a look at it, and it's a good way to narrow down the list of posts and to see them on your favorite front end.

More Use Cases for Author Rewards
Acid describes the use cases of 2 services he partially owns where the author forfeits some of their rewards.
@reward.app has mainly been used to liquidize rewards, but it seems it can be used to offer higher rewards to your curators... It also takes a 1% fee.
@commentrewarder is newer, and thus, more people are familiar with it. It is used to forfeit some of your author rewards for your commenters.

Splinterlands Updates
Regular updates for Splinterlands. Among them:
- Yaba's Pickle promo card was released (phase 1)
- craftable Auction Marks & Fortune Tickets are available
- a new battle results screen

Healer Items Alpha for Holozing
@acidyo talked some more about Healer items last week. All this info he shares will be precious when the game starts. Maybe they are carved out in a shorter format for the game, because these posts can become quite lengthy at times and they often discussed different topics, so they would be difficult to use as reference points for players.

Miners Don't Sell Their BTC At This Time
Bitcoin miners live off speculating trends to increase their profit margins, and they are very good at it. Right now, the BTC mining pool that makes up the majority of flows to Binance has dropped its flows to the exchange, which indicates that they are expecting BTC to go higher on the short-medium term. Here are more details.
Some Good News For Alts?
Two influential individuals (one of them, the co-founder of Tether), are teaming up to raise $1bn for a listed crypto vehicle that aims to build a portfolio of digital assets, including alts. Read more.

It looks like alot of things are changing with Splinterlands. If the new soulbound rewards are coming out, then maybe I should focus on leveling up some of my rare/common cards because I don't have high level summoners.
Yep. The Rebellion SB set is on the last mile. Matt said 3 months and then added 4 with half-mouth. So, whatever we think is important to us for the old set must be ready within 3 months.
I would also add Ureka.social (new hive front end) by @ura-soul, who is constantly improving it!
Yep, I included it last week and this week in Hive news community. I agree, it's a quickly evolving front end.
