I don't have a habit of doing HPUD post, but yesterday, while scrolling and reading posts, I chanced upon this interesting site: https://powerup.hivecreators.co/live-event
It showed some stats of the Hive Power Up Day. As you can see, for the month of Oct 2026, 380 Hivians have powered up Hive, with 2026's record being 490 and historic record being 951.

There were some historical stats as well. September seemed to be the quietest month with only 257 Hivians powered up before a rebound this month. Does this have any link with the rebound in the price of Hive? Hmm.

They also had rankings of who powered how much Hive, so of course, I had to look for mine! And as of time of writing, I am currently at 34th, having powered up 898 Hive!

It's cute that they have this "badge of honour" for me to download and keep for records. A pat on my back! :)

I joined Hive in Sep 2021 and I am just past the 5 year mark. Much of my progress have been documented in my quarterly personal progress update here, so I won't repeat the numbers there. Rather, I would talk about my Hive Power Up journey.
Other than the few times that I forgot or was unavailable, I have always made it an effort to power up at least 10 HP every month, partly to join in the fun, and partly also to build my account on Hive, because I believe in the future of Hive.
That said, this month's 898 Hive power up is my biggest ever power up. And it's something to be happy and proud of.
Personally, I do have a certain fixed set of rules and formula to calculate and decide how much Hive to power up, how much to allocate for projects, games, or even HP delegation. So it's not really a random number that I picked to power up. And coming in at a record amount of 898 Hive Power is not by coincidence. Much of the Hive came from the liquid Hive from post rewards, because there is no HBD given out these days. Also, I made a personal decision to consistently swap out Layer 2 tokens to Hive to accelerate my build up of my Hive Power.
Even as I keep track of my progress every now and then, I have never set any targets for myself, because at the end of the day, I always see (and remind myself) this as a casual hobby and I should not be chasing numbers and end up unintentionally create stress. Maybe having little to no expectations perhaps have allowed me to last so long over here, even as people leave the community for a variety of reasons.
Regardless, I still want to want to thank all my readers, followers, and my friends on Hive for voting, commenting, and engaging with me for the past 5 years. Not many of them left now, but like what people say, quality friendships beat quantity anytime.
So happy belated HPUD and let's continue to build!
Congrats on your power up may your journey continue to be successful
