It looks like this summer (as many previous) has a strange, after-war battlefield effect... We need that vacation, we deserve it, but getting back is always a tough job... For some, it's too hard, as they don't come back at all!
I will use my personal experience for this... Back in 2011 (I think), with my family, I went on vacation to Spain... At that moment, I was running a company (with 2 co-owners) for a couple of years, without taking a vacation longer than 3-4 days, and this one was around 3-4 weeks... A lot... Maybe too much... I have to be honest, before going on vacation, I was unhappy with my work; it didn't fulfill me anymore, and I was seeing only bad things...
So, when I came back from vacation, I entered my office and saw a pile of work that I had left before! That wasn't just my work, but everyone else's too... Nobody touched it, and it had to be done a long time ago... That was my "boiling point," which I couldn't cross... That day, I left my company forever... The next day, I organized a reunion with my "ex-partners" to discuss my resignation...
Recently, I saw many of my friends leaving for vacation, but they didn't come back to HIVE... And when I say friends, I mean people whom I communicated with here on the chain, but also, met IRL, drank coffee, and sat at the same table... I know people have different priorities, different views, different opinions... Some are more flexible, more tolerant, others aren't... Someone snaps in a day, others snap after a few years, some never...
The point is that we are all different, and we don't know how this "decentralization" thing works... We are experimenting, we are researching the unknown land, uncharted territories... And because of that, we should be a lot more open-minded than anyone else, and we should take care of each other, be more understanding...
It's not easy for sure... Maybe even more than ever, we are tested on those words by Victor Hugo, βThe liberty of one citizen ends where the liberty of another citizen begins.β or the other one by Oliver Wendell Holmes, βYour rights end where my rights begin.β
I've got a bit distracted... Back to the #MyHiveGoals numbers... Another 2 months have passed, and it's a perfect time to check up on my Hive goals...
The chart is still going up, which is fine... Tomorrow is the #HivePUD day, and I will try to make a bigger pump on this chart, but we will see how much HivePower!
Comparing with my last report from the end of June, I have added 3437 to my HivePower balance! That is a bit less than in the previous 2 months, mainly because of my laziness during the summer... I created fewer posts, earned less author rewards, and this is the result... On the other side, it's not all about post rewards, I did get some HIVE on the second layer by investing in certain tokens and taking some profits... That HIVE will soon be powered up and change this picture...
Speaking of taking profits, I did take some on other cryptocurrencies... I moved some of those profits to HIVE, and my staked HBD amount grew by 555 in the last 2 months! That's not a bad result, knowing that we still didn't have a proper "bull run" (the famous "banana zone"π)...
Regarding my Hive Meetups goal, it moved up to 2! After the BuzzParty meetup in Graz, I have organized a small Hive meetup in Serbia during the summer... I'm not sure if I will attend another 3 meetups until the end of this year, but I will give my best to do so! HiveFest is very far away this year, and probably "out of the league" for me, but there is still a chance to do some Hive meetup(s) in Europe, and maybe in Spain too...
Regarding my "gaming goals", not too much to say about them... In the Rising Star game, I keep my focus on lowering my EGO, spending all my earnings on lessons... That means almost zero funds left on cards and packs... On the other side, my progress on pushing down the EGO is visible! I got it under 8% from over 30% that I had a year or two ago!
I have reached my GolemOverlord goal for this year before, and I'm still climbing in rankings... Will see where I will finish at the end of the year... Maybe instead of finishing in the Top 350, I could reach the Top 300? We will see...
Finally, these are my initial numbers and goals for 2025, created on January 5th, 2025...
Join me in this awesome #MyHiveGoals and let's grow together! It is fun, motivating, and will keep you focused!
Thank you for your time,

Great growth. Blazing the trail or others to follow. I have never played GolemOverlord. How would you describe it and is it fun to play? Take care.
!PIZZA
It is an Idle game similar to Rising Star, but with even less clicking per day... There are "long missions" where you literally do a few clicks every 10-12 hours...
Of course, if you want more to play, there are different additional modes...
If you need a ref. code... http://golemoverlord.com/?ref=cryptofiloz
Cheers!
Thanks. I may have logged in to it when it first came out but will double check when I check the game out again.
not bad , running your own company is one thing depending on partners to do it is not always getting the results you are looking for ,after all nobody does the job like yourself . bin there done that .
Yeah, it is like that... The thing was that I didn't expect exact results as I did it, but ANY result would be great... :)
Anyway, turns out that decision was the right one... Sometimes, even bad stuff are good to happen, as it pushes us in the right direction...
What do you think? Members of HIVE have been leaving HIVE? I have also read that some has started to power down...
It happened many times in the past, combined with summer vacations, it's almost a normal thing to see... But, still, it hurts to realize that some close friends aren't here anymore...
I would never go back to work, but you gotta pay bills so not much choice...
As for hive, it's the low price making people not coming back, I bet if it goes to 0,50$ everyone returns
You are sure about that! If the price goes up, we will see many people coming back... Humans are weird... π
You're doing well! π
It is good to see numbers going up... π
You are doing quite well on your goals, and it sounds rough if you can't even take a long vacation. Then again, I guess that is the downside of running your own business. You have no choice but to be there when its needed.
Running one's own business can be tough, but it also has its advantages... It depends on how you configure it... π I made mistakes when I was younger, but lately, with more experience, I tend to enjoy more in the pros of running my own business... π
Thanks for your curation, @ewkaw! π

Brother, I hug you from afar and I'm glad you're one of those who always returns to Hive. This summer was very busy for you, but as you can clearly see in this post, you always find a way to grow. I also had an August full of vacation activities, and today I feel more relaxed and eager to live this last four months to the fullest. I just hope there are photos of that vacation for #TBT π π
Nice profit taking, good choice for not waiting for the infamous banana zone lol. I think decentralization within this space is still in the experimental phase, we're all participating into creating a future we would like to see and it's not going to be a smooth sailing knowing we come from different backgrounds. I'm a bit optimistic that it'll work out in the end for good but when that will be, I'm far from being sure!
Interesting thoughts. I also spend lesser time on Hive compared to when I started 4 years ago, but I am still around, almost everyday, unless I am on vacation. I just had to free up time for other new things in my life, and I think it's also "healthy" to balance different hobbies than to be too "addicted" to a selected few.

Go back to work after vacation is always difficult but we've to work as no one do it for us π₯Ί i also see that many people leave hive as maybe they're busy in real life....

Happy PUD to you sir! You grow fast weren't you 100k some months ago π
I was on vacation too, but I didn't give up on Hive :-)
Those days I collected material for the posts and rested, and regularly followed the content of the others who were here.
It was my third Hive birthday the other day and I'm still not giving up, I'm here every day :-)
As for my vacation, unfortunately, it's over.
A week ago I came back and started working.
It was very stressful those first few days and I was already tired as if I had never been on vacation.
But one thing is true, those two weeks that I didn't work I got a proper rest!
Congratulations @ph1102! You received a personal badge!
Wait until the end of Power Up Day to find out the size of your Power-Bee.
