There are many saints of Allah in our world who have worshipped the Creator without eating only to find the Creator. There are some stories that teach good behavior towards animals and birds.

Stories can educate us in a lot of good lessons and those stories play a very good and important role in our real-life experiences.

A person who does not have moral education within him can never be educated. Formal education alone cannot change a person's life.
A person is called educated and religious only when he has morality within him and has respect and love for people. So if we really want our children to lead the society as educated and religious, then they should definitely know the real-life events of wise people.
