"Finding me" the movie review

This is me applauding the Nollywood industry in my nation for always improving in their movies; before now, I didn't think I would even risk sitting down to watch a Nigerian movie, but currently, I can proudly sit at a spot and watch a Nigerian movie without complaining about it to anyone. The peace the people around me are enjoying when it comes to me not criticizing Nigerian movies, "I also love that peace," and I pray it continues like that forever.

I'm not a fan of my nation's movies for a reason best known to me: "I know some persons are likely to understand my reasons without me saying a word". It was during the holidays when I was seriously in search of what to watch. Then boom, I saw this movie pop up in the top search icon. "I was like,, wow," when I saw the name of the producer: "I didn't think twice," but to download it. Funke Akindele is a genius when it comes to producing incredible movies, and seeing that alone made me realize I didn't want to miss out on this masterpiece.

The Plot

The movie tells the story of a woman named "Tinuke Philip," an intelligent and hard-working lady who can sacrifice everything she has for the person she loves. Tinuke struggles with low self-esteem despite growing up in a very wealthy background. She believes she is unworthy of love until she meets Kola Philips, a kind and loving man who respects and appreciates her for who she is. They fall in love and later get married, but then the big question is, "Would Kola love her for who she is after saying I do?".

My Review

Often, as humans, at one point in our lives, we've looked into the mirror and couldn't recognize ourselves; I can tell we've always been in a situation like that, "no doubt". I know people often say love is everything that matters in a marriage and they go further into saying that "love is blind" With the world today, I don't think love is still blind, I think love has gone through a specific deliverance process that currently it can see with its eyes wild open "seeing all the flaws".

This movie tells the human story of self-loss and discovery; sometimes, we engage in something and totally forget about ourselves, and we go all out for the people we love when they don't reciprocate the same energy. Often, we are so lost in things that we don't listen to the advice of others but just follow our hearts even when our instincts are refusing.

This film is indeed a masterpiece produced by the great mind "Funke Akindele" I can't hold myself but reminisce on the storyline about a man being in a relationship with a lady for four years and finding out that the lady has been using him all this while just to be getting money from him so she would be able to relocate abroad with her family "it's heartbreaking"

I'm gonna rate this movie a 9/10; I loved every scene, and the storyline portrays real-life events. I would recommend it to anyone interested in watching it; trust me, you won't regret watching it.
