Red One: A Christmas Action Movie With More Comedy Than Magic

I don't know why I will have a movie in mind to download for me to watch and I will end up in downloading another movie entirely, is it because, I love eye catching movie posters or I just got attracted to actors but I will explain why I love this action movie.

I thought maybe this is just another action film with military style, but when I sat down to see it, I realize it is more like a Christmas adventure mixed with comedy and action which am surprise a bit.

The movie stars Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans, and both of them bring very different energy. The Rock (Dwayne) is more serious, straight face and always ready for fight, while Chris Evans is more sarcastic and playful. The combination of both sometimes work really well, because it give balance between the silly and the strong. Other times, it felt like they are trying too hard to be funny.

The story is about Santa Claus being kidnapped and they both must team up to rescue him very funny and Sounds kind of childish when you say it out loud, but the movie try to make it bigger with action scenes, fights, explosions, and even magical creatures. Honestly I like that they mix Christmas feeling with superhero type action, it give something different from usual holiday movies.

But I have to say, some part of the movie felt too long or not necessary. The jokes are many, but not all of them land well and it's very hardly to guess what you are likely to see sometimes it was like they are forcing laughter instead of letting the moment be natural. Also the CGI and effects are a bit all over the place, sometimes looking nice but sometimes looking cheap.

I enjoy watching it because it’s not a boring film. I was happy I utilize my time greatly and It is one of those movies you can watch with family during holidays without thinking too much. It is colorful, full of energy, and it will at least keep you entertained for two hours.
