Here Love Lies; A Drama with a Twist
When I read the review of this movie on Netflix, I almost dismissed it as one of those movies with the same love-based Nigeria storyline, I even stopped watching it for a while and only resumed later just to see where the story ends, but the movie is a great one that deserves more positive rating than it currently has on Netflix.
This movie is the story of a young Nigerian girl whose parents are pastors, and she gets pregnant with her lover. As expected by most Nigeria preachers, she was sent away from home accompanied by curses from her father, it was a struggle being a single Mum without love from her family members or anyone at all. She struggled to fend for herself as well as the child, and eventually, she became a successful travel blogger who was able to take good care of herself and her child.
Then, it was time for her to find love and she was not fortunate there, as some men would cancel on her the moment they found out she was a single Mum, she was still thinking about how to tell the man she currently loved about her daughter when she was embarrassed by his wife, she was beyond disappointed as she had no idea she had fallen in love with a married man.
Moving on from that relationship, she promised herself no more dating but decided to give love a chance again with a man who would not stop commenting consistently on her page for a long while. With what seemed like a good, lovey-dovey relationship, she decided to go and surprise him outside the States.
Despite several obstacles, they were able to make love win, and their bond grew stronger. The story however turned when it became clear that Micheal had an ulterior motive, he had kidnapped other travel bloggers in the past and no one knows what happened to them from there. Amanda's story would have also turned out without anyone ever finding out what happened to her.
This experience made Amanda forgive her family and finally gave them room to meet her pretty daughter.
This movie directed by Bimbo Oshin is one you should watch, it is a suspense, love, and drama-filled one.
