CineTV Contest #22 - Favorite Sports Movie//@merlui03
Receive a warm greeting friends of #hive community #cinetv; today I present my participation in this contest where the theme is based on telling the story of a movie with a theme based on sports; for this I present the movie The Rookie of the Year; although it was a little famous movie; it has a sports theme where they honor baseball as its main sport. This movie is currently available through the Disney Plus streaming platform.
Rookie of the Year is an American film produced in 1993 and starring Thomas Ian Nicholas, Gary Busey and Amy Morton.
The central theme of this movie revolves around a 12 year old teenager named Henry who was a right fielder; a position that was not to his liking and he could never catch balls; therefore most of the time he was on the bench of his team. His mother always told him not to be discouraged that maybe right field was not his position; that maybe he would do better as a pitcher; with the novelty that at the end of the movie it is revealed that Henry's mother in her youth was a successful pitcher.
During an outing with friends Henry has an accident; he steps on a baseball and falls to the ground; as a result of this fall Henry injures his arm and is put in a cast; when the cast is removed he realizes that his arm has acquired an enormous strength due to the healing of bones and tendons together (part of the fiction of the film). As a result of this accident, he is given the opportunity to play in the big leagues with the Chicago Cubs.
Henry's arrival to the Cubs as a pitcher was a big event, as the boy could throw the ball at 100 miles per hour. At the beginning it was hard for him to integrate into the team, but by showing his personality and work on the field he managed to win the affection and acceptance of his teammates.

In the last decisive game to advance to the World Series, new problems arise for Henry; it turns out that he falls again on his arm and it becomes again like the arm of a normal child; he manages with much ingenuity and cunning to lead his beloved Cubs to victory and thus achieve the dreamed qualification to the World Series.
Although this movie was not a blockbuster at the time, I liked it very much, because it talks about my favorite sport, baseball, and also highlights the importance of the value of family and friendship, a fundamental aspect of our lives.
