Time is a mystery many are yet to uncover but with the many concepts from scientists, in movies about time travelling and reincarnation, we keep getting exposed to imaginations about time. I can't say it makes us understand time fully, we just see time differently and a complex.
I read that "wheel of time" is a seven wheel of time because each wheel represents an age in time. So I thought it was a perfect description for this particular series about time. The contest is about favourite movies about time and my list from Korean drama series is almost countless.
I thought sharing the interpretation of time in series like "A Time Called You", "Mr Queen" and "Hit The Top" but I remember the unique storyline of "See You In My 19th Life" and I think it's my favourite for this contest so here I am after going through the summary of the whole series again.
"See You In My 19th Life" is mainly a romantic comedy Korean series but one that will be incomplete without the time aspect of it. I think I've reviewed this series somewhere a long time ago but I'm very sure I didn't take it in the direction I am about to take it - About time in it.
I'll give a big kudos to the female lead, Shin Hye-sun who met my expectations on this one like she did in "Mr Queen". It's amazing that she has starred in two series that explains time in very different ways. This is my favourite and it's time explanation is from the angle of reincarnation.
Reincarnation is a more complex aspect of time as it involves coming into life again after a past life history. In this series, Shin Hye-sun plays the role of a lady who cursed herself to keep being reincarnated and she lived 19 lives, dying at childhood or young age until it was her 19th life.
What was most fascinating about her story is how they try to show her living in all those 19 lives even though they were very brief. She lived very different lives in all of them, like being a soldier, an interpreter to important foreigners, great dancer and many others she remembers.
It is more fascinating she remembers every life she lived in the past and uses the skills she had in them in her present lives, makes her an "all in one" in her 19th life and very admirable in everything she does. Every life especially the ones in old times portray cultures of each time.
In one life, she was dressed like in the BC years and it was quite interesting to see even for the brief scene it had. And i think they put in a lot of effort in showing the period she lived in for most of her past lives they showed. Even her acting in those lives were quite the show and different.
There are no like time machines or a time travel scenes in this one but with her being able remember her past lives, it felt more like we could go in and out of her past lives like we're in a time machine that takes us back in time, not into the future. The curse was lifted up in the end.
It's not your regular kind of series about time but it's definitely one worth the watch, 12 episodes of a romantic comedy with interesting twists and characters who played their roles well. I'll recommend it for your watch, rating it 8/10.
I really admire the concept Korean movies come up with. Aside the love story aspect, they know how to get the viewers intrigued in other areas and I just love it. Nice review
That's for a fact, it's why I enjoy their series.
An interesting story line to watch

Wait a minute! I just noticed something, I’m not sure how true it is though. The lead actress in see you in my 19th life and. Mr Queen, aren’t they the same person?
Well, I will agree with you. These two movies fit perfectly for the theme.
