THE RECRUIT SERIES REVIEW

As someone who hardly watches movie, when I finally watch one, it’s even hard to talk about it because I feel like I’m not qualified to do that. But I know that’s not true because as long as I spent my time on the screen, it’s only right that I share some of my experiences and if possible make a recommendation of these movies to anyone interested. So for today, after a while, I was intrigued by a short series I saw recently and I’m going to share a little thing about it, so stay tuned.

Normally, I won’t just watch a movie not to even mention a series except I’m very sure the series is complete and I can get all the episodes in it. I remember when I was sending this series from a colleague, I made sure to ask him if the movie was completed and if he has all the episodes and he answered with a resounding yes. I was happy and asked him to go ahead and send them to me. It was the first few weeks of resumption so I didn’t mind getting as many movies as I can, for those days when I feel like watching a movie, especially while eating.

When I started this series, I was a bit confused because it seemed like everything was moving so fast except me of course. It took me a whole episode which was about an hour before I started understanding what might be going on. There was this particular guy who happens to be the lead actor that got me hooked. His name was Owen. Owen was everywhere, I mean, once he is not there, I felt a bit uninterested. Not that the other actors weren’t good enough but then, Owen was like I said, was all over the place. It was nice and hard not to be noticed.

The series was all about how the CIA and operations work (fictionally speaking). I have heard about CIAs a couple of times but never OPERATIONs. But this movie explains a few things of how things might be and it was quite expository for what it’s worth although I doubt that is even close to how things might be and in the real world. I enjoyed how the storyline was progressing, it was hard to predict what would happen next but you could try to guess and end up getting disappointed, hehe. Owen was supposed to be a lawyer as he always tries to explain to anyone he meets but then he was most times if not all the time, mistaken for a spy.

He was daring and smart. Unlike many that have worked with the CIA, he became famous in just a week after he was employed. He went through really tough situations but somehow, he always came out of it. He was a good man but the people around him kept reminding him that being in the CIA, one has to be not-kind and Owen struggled to accept that notion. He strived quite well and made a couple of acquaintances which helped him in his career as a lawyer working for the CIA.

One interesting thing I got to discover at the end of the movie was that I just successfully watched the second season instead of the first. I was a bit disappointed at myself because I didn’t even realize it until I got to the end. But that explained why I was a bit lost at the start. Luckily for you, I’m here to tell you that it is a series and it has two seasons. And after watching the first season, I understood better some scenes in the second season that were not adding up.

Here’s a link to the trailer of the second season on YouTube.

It’s an American series and it’s titled THE RECRUIT and it was worth watching. Although I didn’t watch it at a go. It has about 18-20 episodes in total and I spent over 1 month completing it. I’m not going to rate it but if you want, you can check it out and thank me later, hehe.

Until next time, stay tuned. ❤️
