When Our Level Of Faith Is Tested: MARKED Review

Just like the way God tested the faith of Job in the story that some of us heard, at some point in life, our faith also will be tested, and it is left for us either to wait on God or to fall for the temptation that may come our way.

While watching this movie series called Marked a couple of days ago, I was really amazed at what happened even though I did not judge, knowing full well that anyone can fall if their faith is being tested when it comes to going all in for the person they truly love.

This movie, Marked, is a top-notch South African movie for me due to its deep cultural and psychological impact. It features one of the top S.A movie stars Lerato Mvelase, who took the role of an ex-cop known as Babalwa Godongwana, who did all her possible best to raise money for her daughter, Palesa, who was suffering from a brain tumor, which the female doctor in the movie referred to as a terminal illness because if not operated on, she will die.

Babalwa Godongwana decided to search for money for the operation of her daughter, especially when her boss refused to loan her the money she asked for, and the pastor of her church also refused to when she and her husband approached them.

She was left with no other choice than to involve herself in a heist of robbing the bank that she works for as the bullion van driver. She decided to plan the heist with a popular gangster lord, known as Baba G, even though the heist was not a successful one as planned. Which she gave room for her faith to be tested the second time as they planned another heist with one of Baba G's adopted sons after Baba G passed away.

On of the things I really admire about this movie is that even when our faith is being tested, we should not fall for that temptation no matter how tempting it might look because God will always come through for those who believe in him and hold their faith tight, believing that he will come through for them

Just like that, Babalwa's husband, Tebza kept his faith up throughout those times of need and sorrow when it was very hard to raise money for their daughter's surgery, his faith was not let down because at the last minute, a miracle of unexpected donation happened, but for Babalwa, that was too late because she had gone for second heist and later shot her boss, who later donated the money for the surgery of her daughter.

Babalwa's faith was compromised, and she was carried away. I know some will say that any woman could have done that. But in your time of temptation, what would you have done? Will you compromise?

What I gained from this movie about temptation is that, even when all hope seems lost and there is no one we can turn to, there is always God. He is there, and he will not let me down even in our hardest moment because he will not give us a problem that we cannot overcome.

This movie was worth the watch for me, and I will rate it 8/10.

Thank you for reading.
