CineTV Contest #51 - Favorite Western Movie

Hello CineTV

Who doesn't like to revisit the past a bit? The 80s for me were a foundational time and the TV shows and movies really impacted me greatly. I hope that you all found this contest interesting! There was such a wide variety of selections that make it much more fun to judge. Thanks to you all for participating!

Let's get to this week's winners:

First Place

The first place finisher was @mairene1 with a review of Mannequin found here: https://peakd.com/hive-121744/@mairene1/cinetv-contest-back-to-the-80s-mannequin-1987

I thought that this was such a unique choice of movie! I remember watching this movie and being mesmerized byt the idea of a mannequin coming to life. This was a great choice and a really interesting review. Thank you!

Second place

In second place we have @nameless16 with their choice of Beverly Hills Cop here: https://peakd.com/hive-121744/@nameless16/cinetv-contest-beverly-hills-cop-engoresp

A cop from my neck of the woods, Detroit goes to Beverly Hills and causes trouble. Love it! Eddie Murphy is such an icon and had some really great movies in the 80s. Love the choice and the review. Congrats!

Third place

Our third place winner in this contest is @nbarrios67 with their choice of Die Hard and can be found here: https://peakd.com/hive-121744/@nbarrios67/cinetv-contest-50-favorite-iconic-80s-die-hard

A Christmas movie, an action movie, some romance, some amazing one liners and an iconic 80s movie! I absolutely loved this choice. A fantastic movie and a great review. Thank you!

Congrats!

225 CINE COINS and 100 Ecency Points will be transferred to the winners.

Now if anyone disagrees with our choices then please tag us in a comment on this post!

And let's move on to the new contest!

Favorite Western Movie

On to our next contest! Thank you to @ecency for sponsoring our Cine TV contests! Check them out at ecency.com. 🙂

I am pretty sure this isn't a category that everyone is going to love but if you have never seen a Western movie, there are some amazing stories that you are missing out on! I hope that it will help you to find a Western movie that you have never seen or reviewed and join in.

When I was younger and had some free time, I decided to take a quick trip to Tombstone, Arizona. It was winter where I was coming from and I didn't expect the exceptionally warm weather and was wearing a light hoodie. I explored the famous Wild West town while sweating bullets. Also, I didn't realize how close to the U.S./Mexico border it was! There were car checks and quite a bit of a police presence as you drew closer to the border. Overall, the town was very interesting as I am huge fan of history. It seems like a tourist trap now, built to separate the tourist from their money. But there is still a magic to it and I highly recommend a visit if you get the chance.

For this contest I am asking you to pick your favorite Western movie and tell me why you love it. Here are some questions to get you started: what about these characters drew you to this story? Are there some Western tropes in this film that make you chuckle? What does the setting bring to the story? What is your favorite aspect of Western movies and how does this movie exemplify that aspect? Do you actually like Western movies?

Those are just some ideas to get you started. Please be original
and write a creative response to the topic. Don't retell the plot or plagiarize. Originality is required for curation and to be considered for the contest.

I look forward to reading your selections. Have a great week!

Please check out the list of rules and suggestions below or feel free to ask me in the Discord channel if you have any questions (caulderfreeman). Enjoy this week's contest and good luck!

Excellent, I love some of the western serials that aired in the 60's and 70's; many of them with extraordinary content. I'm already working on participating.

Ohhh thank you so much, I'm very happy to have won the contest, 😃 but I like even more the fact that I have participated in such a wonderful theme as the 80's, a wonderful time, full of fun. Mannequin was a great movie, very original, they should make a good remake of it. 😊

What a pleasure to be part of the three winners; congratulations to the other two winners.

I really like the theme of this week's contest; I will be participating very soon.

Congratulations @mairene1 and @nameless16. Thanks to CineTv for the mention. Some time ago I made a post about High Noon with Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly, for me the best western movie, I made another one about The Wild Bunch, another excellent and violent western movie with great actors like William Holden and Ernest Borgnine directed by Sam Peckinpah, for this week I must think of some other good western movie, I will put my brain to work. Best regards.

I'm not usually a big fan of old westerns, but there is one that I definitely love, so I can't help but enter this competition. Visiting Tombstone in Arizona when you were younger must have given you a lot of inspiration to develop this competition.

Here's my entry and I'll quickly go and read yours, I'm dying of curiosity.
