Hello and welcome to the 27TH edition of Cine TV Community Spotlight. The Cine TV Spotlight Series has begun in a bid to boost engagement and interaction in the community and showcase the work of deserving authors.
And it’s all simple. At the end of every week, we spotlight works by authors based on the content, originality, style, and word count. It is not a contest but just our way of creating exposure for the works we enjoyed throughout the week and boosting exceptionally written content by our authors. Simply put, give it your best and have fun while at it, and then we showcase your work here.
So, in no particular order, here are the authors spotlighted for this week:

Title: My Lady Jane: Hiatory Meets Fantasy
Historical drama is one of my favourite genres, especially if it's based on the Tudor era. I like that this series is fictionalised, giving us a glimpse into the writer's/creator's imagination of how history might have unfolded differently. The plot is great and the storytelling is even better. I dubbed this show the best one I've seen recently because there are no dull moments from the first episode to the last. The opening scene immediately captures your attention and draws you in. You already know it's going to be a funny, captivating and action-packed series.

Title: Barbie: A Timeless Childhood Classic
I won't lie. I grew up in the means of ladies, which means my favorite childhood movies will be influenced by what they watch. I am a man, and I would talk about what I watched the most while growing up. Many people might laugh at me now, but no one laughed at me when I was younger. Growing up, I watched many cartoons, and one of my best was the Barbie collection. Thinking of writing about it now was funny because there were a lot of them and I don't know the one to write about so I would just write a general review on the ones I can remember.

Title: A Baby Outsmarts Three Grown Men
Even now, as an adult, I sometimes go back and watch Baby’s Day Out amongst other movies from my childhood when that nostalgic feeling hits. The movie is a classic, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. It wasn’t just about the baby, the kidnappers, or the action, although all a huge part of it, but it was more about the feeling. That pure, childlike joy of being entertained without overthinking. An adult would probably watch the movie and be like, "no way is that possible". you must’ve been missing out big time.

Title: Finding Me: A Nigerian Classic
As I said last week, I am trying hard to rejuvenate my sense of watching movies frequently. If I can remember correctly I watched a couple of movies last week and I am yet to get my hands on an interesting movies this week. As usual, TikTok did it’s thing last week and recommended a great Nigerian movie for me to watch. I saw bits of it on TikTok and after watching a few clips of it I decided to download it from net naija. As much as we are complaining about now the casting of Nigerian movies have taken a certain direction, some of the movies writers still strive to make their movies worth watching.

Title: The Gods Must Be Crazy
Most kids back then in my area didn't have a TV at home, so after school and during the weekends, they would all come to my house to watch movies. Our parlor was big enough to accommodate at least 20 kids or more, so you can imagine the crowd we always had in our house; it was more of a cinema, lol. Whenever we wanted to have a good laugh, we would play this movie and laugh our hearts out. It was so hilarious that I never for once watched it alone; I would always watch it with my friends because watching it together always made the movie even more funnier, hahaha.

Title: Babygirl
The film is visually stunning. The cinematography, the shots, the direction… everything is so well done. And the soundtrack… oof! 👌 The acting is also fantastic, and they don't overuse nudity. They just let you understand what's happening and where the story is going. "Babygirl" is an American erotic thriller. It was written, directed, and co-produced by Halina Reijn. Starring alongside Nicole Kidman are Harris Dickinson, Sophie Wilde, and Antonio Banderas. What a cast! ✨

Title: The Movie Reacher
It felt great and important, and I started wondering why I'd not been asking for this from all the movies I've watched 🤣🤣. The bar has been increased now, guys. I wonder if it was the Director or just the Make-up person who came up with this idea to be true to injuries in this way, but that was a little addition that does a great lot! I've looked online and I didn't see any awards for the make-up person or something of the sort, but maybe I didn't look well enough, I hope someone gets their due for this.

Title: The Lion King (1994)
The whole story is influential to me, not just any character. The bravery, the family bonding, the fun and excitement, the friendship and support, the leadership skill; everything is absorbed in the core of my heart. It's not just a movie, a life story to me. Sounds silly, it's not a human story. But a silly movie taught our small brains so much. The death of Simba's father, and when Simba gets to know the truth; these two scenes were so emotional...I can remember every single detail of them. It still never fails to attract me on the screen when it plays.
