Hello and welcome to the 52ND edition of Cine TV Community Spotlight. The Cine TV Spotlight Series has begun in a bid to boost engagement and interaction in the community and showcase the work of deserving authors.
And it’s all simple. Every week, we spotlight works by authors based on the content, originality, style, and word count. It is not a contest, but just our way of creating exposure for the works we enjoyed throughout the week and boosting exceptionally written content by our authors. Simply put, give it your best and have fun while at it, and then we showcase your work here.
So, in no particular order, here are the authors spotlighted for this week:

Title: A Frustrating Yet Absolutely Captivating Series
I dislike the feeling of frustration, but that was exactly what this series brought me, and yet, I couldn’t stop watching. In fact, I even watched it twice because it was very wattpad-ish and it kept drawing me in. And both times, I watched with subtitles just because I wanted to make a mental note of some of the literary devices used. The Summer I Turned Pretty is a coming of age series about a girl who became pretty one summer and then found herself in a love triangle that included two brothers and herself, obviously.

Title: Oloture: The Journey
Certain scenes in this movie didn't make sense to me because I thought that undercover jobs are done by highly trained combatant such that when they get into compromised situations, they can always fight their way out. Unfortunately for this movie and every other Nollywood movie that I have watched in this regard, I always see the female undercover being a victim of abuse. I couldn't help but wonder if that is how it is in reality, because personally, it will not be me sacrificing myself for a story.

Title: To Kill a Monkey
The first 3 episodes of the series were nothing worth my time. The fourth to seventh were a bit okay but not totally worth watching and that’s why I say all these 7 episodes could have been boxed into one. For me, only the 8th episode got me into suspense and had me itching for more. So I ask myself, did I have to go through 7 hours of torture just for an hour of something I deserved. Well, what more can I say.
And also, the characters somehow made it so obvious they were acting. We all know it’s a movie but can you at least stop doing too much. Their actions weren’t giving natural vibes.

Title: A Discovery of Witches - Season 1
The scenery brings us some charm from European landscapes, and this one is particularly silent, cold, and unchanging. It exhibits old architecture mixed with modern details. We are taken from Oxford, England, to Venice, Italy. On the other hand, the magic in this story has decent effects, not abundant though. Since Diana has refused her powers, her road is more about learning what happened to her and how to finally use them. We see some Witch wind and fire, Vampire fangs and speeds, yet Daemons don't show anything special. We also witness some witch's rituals and enchantments.

Title: Nepotism in Hollywood
Earlier today, I came across a post online talking about James Gunn facing backlash over his decision to yet again cast his brother in a movie he’s working on. Anyone who is a movie lover and knows James Gunn knows very well that Sean Gunn, his younger brother, has always featured prominently in his movies. Even in the tiniest roles. Sean had a cameo in Superman, but that was only as a snippet to Peacemaker, whose second season is coming out shortly, where he has a more pronounced role. He also had a role in The Suicide Squad (although it was a tiny one).

Title: Ghetto Mother
This movie reminded me of my childhood days where I was cared for by my mum alone. I have been there before so it was very easy to relate, Children that are being raised by only single parents most of the times may face unique challenges like emotional challenges and financial constraints. The movie actually broke my heart in the best way, I didn’t expect it to hit me so hard, but it did. Ghetto Mother made me feel so much pain, anger, love, and even guilt. It showed me a kind of suffering I sometimes forget exists.

Title: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Prisoner of Azkaban I find to be the most balanced film of the franchise. Good balance is a pretty relaxing characteristic when it comes to entertainment and well, anything in life I guess. I am extremely reluctant to pick an actual favorite Harry Potter film, but Prisoner of Azkaban would be a top candidate, and I do happily admit that it's easily one of my favorites. Maybe I'll reluctantly rank the films one day for fun, who knows. It would stink to have to choose a least favorite LOL but it could be interesting. Why is this film relaxing to me? Well the pure nostalgia this film gives me is off the charts.
