[PL / ENG] "Teściowie 2" / "The In-Laws 2" [2023]
"Teściowie 2" to zupełnie inny film niż pierwsza część. I w sumie odkryłam tajemnicę, dlaczego tak jest: o ile w każdej z części za scenariusz odpowiada Marek Modzelewski, to reżyser się zmienił: twórcą jedynki był Jakub Michalczuk, twórcą dwójki - Kalina Alabrudzińska. I nie chcąc nikogo krytykować to powiem tak: o ile pierwsza część była nietuzinkowa, tak druga jest typową durną komedią, w sumie niezłą - bo podobało mi się i nieźle spędziłam czas - ale stoi obok innych komedii tego typu i łatwo może ulec zapomnieniu.
"The In-Laws 2" is a completely different film than the first part. And I've finally discovered the secret behind it: while Marek Modzelewski wrote the script for each installment, the director has changed: Jakub Michalczuk directed the first one, and Kalina Alabrudzińska directed the second. And without wishing to criticize anyone, I'll say this: while the first part was exceptional, the second is a typical, silly comedy. It's actually quite good—I enjoyed it and had a good time—but it stands alongside other comedies of its kind and could easily be forgotten.
Pisząc te słowa, już wiem, bo obejrzałam kwadrans trzeciej części - że reżyserem tej najnowszej jest znowu Jakub Michalczuk i widać to od pierwszych scen. "Teściowie" powrócili.
As I write this, I already know, having watched fifteen minutes of the third installment, that Jakub Michalczuk is once again directing this latest installment, and it's evident from the very first scenes. "The In-Laws" are back.
Co do drugiej części, to mamy ładną scenografię i lubianych bohaterów - choć każdy jest tu zdrowo szajbnięty. Brakuje tylko byłego już męża Małgosi Wilk, czyli Dorocińskiego. Szkoda. Za to pojawia się z nią sympatyczny Janek grany przez jeszcze bardziej sympatycznego Eryka Kulma.
As for the second part, we have a beautiful setting and likeable characters – although everyone is seriously screwed up. The only thing missing is Małgosia Wilk's ex-husband, Dorociński. Too bad. Instead, she does get the likable Janek, played by the even more likable Eryk Kulm.
O ile w pierwszej części na podium królowych stała Ostaszewska, tak w tej części rewelacyjną była przede wszystkim Kuna i jej przemiana. Natomiast sama przemiana i gagi z tym związane takie dość typowo komediowe i przewidywalne.
While Ostaszewska stood on the queens' podium in the first part, the highlight of this part was Kuna and her transformation. However, the transformation itself and the gags associated with it were rather typical comedic and predictable.
