Warm greetings to all movie lovers!!
One of the movie genres that I like is musical, especially those about family.
As I opened Netflix last night, this was the first movie I've seen on the screen. I've become interested because it is musical, and I've either heard of or seen the classic Annie from long ago.
So, here's my review of the 2014 movie "Annie".
Annie (played by Quvenzhane Wallis ) is a foster child living in New York with some other girls under the care of "Miss Hannigan", a mean and manipulative woman (played by Cameron Diaz).
Annie has a positive outlook and remains optimistic throughout the movie.
No matter how uncertain it is who her parents are and whether they're coming back for her, and despite the struggles with her foster mother, along with the foster girls whom she treated as her sisters, Annie remains strong and hopeful, holding tightly to the hope of having her parents back.
One day, Annie accidentally meets Mr. William Stacks (played by Jamie Fox) who saves her from being hit by a car when she is running across the road to save a stray dog. From that time on, Annie and Mr. Stacks became inseparable. Mr. William Stacks is a wealthy man who is running for mayor in the city and is actively campaigning for the upcoming election.
Amidst the campaign, Mr. Stacks and Annie's connection became stronger. It seems like they are a real family.
I love how Mr. William Stacks treated Annie and fulfilled some of Annie's wishes.
This is a truly great movie, not just for kids or children, but for the entire family. I absolutely love and enjoy the film because of its beautiful story of love, courage, faith, and perseverance in the face of adversity through a child.
All the casts and the theatrical performances are superb. And not to forget the role of Grace (played by Rose Byrne), Mr. Stack's female assistant, who supports him not only in his campaign but also with Annie.
I love the way she treated Annie like a real mother. Aside from the story and the cast, what I love the most are the soundtracks. It has a good rhythm that you can't help but sing along with. All the songs are meaningful and suit the movie. I enjoyed the duet of Mr. Stacks and Annie singing "The City is Yours" while they're in the helicopter over New York City. The song "I Don't Need Anything but You" that they sang after saving Annie from the fake parents, but most especially the song "Tomorrow," which conveys a message of hope, even when facing adversity.
It is such a beautiful movie that I can absolutely recommend it to you if you're looking for a feel-good, musical family film.
I hope you'll give it a try.
I'll just end it here and see you around.
Thank you so much for reading my post, and God bless... 😊🙏❤
