Warren Buffet hat auch gleich eine witzige Idee parat, die nicht nur für die USA, sondern auch für Österreich und die EU gelten würde.
Das Budgetdefizit ließe sich in kürzester Zeit lösen, wenn Abgeordnete nicht mehr wiedergewählt werden können, wenn das Defizit auf über 3% des BIP ansteigt. Problem gelöst.

Warren Buffett also has a funny idea up his sleeve that would apply not only to the U.S. but also to Austria and the EU.
The budget deficit could be resolved in no time if all members of Congress could no longer be re-elected once the deficit rises above 3% of GDP. Problem solved.

On the other hand, unexpected events like crises or disasters can increase spending. So it may not always be that simple, but it is definitely an interesting concept.
Nein würde nicht funktionieren.
Denn es macht nicht zwingend Sinn, das sieht man doch Jahrelang wurden Ausgaben gemieden und nun sind Brücken, Straßen, Schulen.... marode.
Was ist in Krisen? Wenn die Einnahmen dramatisch sinken?
Wer wäre denn dabei immer leidtragend? Sieht man doch jetzt schon, gespart wird bei wichtigen Sachen. Aber es wird nicht darüber nachgedacht mal die, die es sich problemlos leisten können zur Kasse zu bitten.
Und dürfen dann alle nicht wieder gewählt werden? Was wenn da aber Politiker bei sind die sehr gute Arbeit machen?
Ich wäre erst mal dafür, das Politiker lückenlos ihre Konten offenlegen müssen. Politiker dürfen keine Aktien Besitzen und auch bei Familienangehörigen sollte das beobachtet werden.
Das fand ich tatsächlich in einer Fragerunde vor den Wahlen von Scholz als Antwort gut auf die Frage, was Sie als sinnvoll halten wie man Investieren soll.
Scholz antwortete in etwa: Sparbuch für mich, für andere Aktien etc. Und erklärte, das er kein Interessenkonflikt haben will.
Die Politiker Pensionen sollten gestrichen werden können, wenn Politker Mist bauen, was natürlich gut definiert und dann auch immer verfolgt werden müsste. Unternehmer können auch haftbar gemacht werden mit den Privatvernögen in bestimmten Fällen. Das sollte da nicht anders sein.
Schluß, sonst wird ein Roman draus !LOL

Politikerhaftung wäre auch eine gute Idee, mehr Verantwortung für Gesetze und Entscheidungen zu tragen. Korruption von Postenbesetzungen und Auftragsvergabe an Freunde ein Delikt machen.
Wäre mal ne Maßnahme. Buffett ist eben clever. Aber wird theoretisch bleiben. Da stimme ich @stayoutoftherz zu.
I would propose prison for all those politicians who failed to keep an election promise—or, at the very least, that they be barred from holding office.
They should put a lock on the door of the meeting place that opens and closes automatically based on the budget deficit 😀
