Rebranded the Crypto Space 77 app to Cyber Space 77 — alpha version 0.17 released — new inline preview reading mode similar to X and geo location support added

Habe die Crypto Space App jetzt auf Cyber Space 77 umbenannt, war keine einfache Entscheidung, aber denke es ist besser ein Rebrand möglichst früh durchzuführen, da es später immer schwieriger wird. In der Alpha-Phase ist das noch möglich. Ziel ist dadurch eine größere Zielgruppe anzusprechen, da auf hive auch viele non-crypto User aktiv sind. Ähnliche Erkenntnis, die auch leofinance / inleo gemacht hat.

Ansonsten gibt es wieder viele Quality-of-Life Updates und Bug fixes. 3speak embeds sollten jetzt funktionieren und ich hab einen neuen Post Reading Mode ähnlich wie auf X implementiert.

Wenn ihr den Text in einer Post-Vorschau anklickt, öffnet sich zuerst eine erweiterte Text-Vorschau mit maximal 1000 Zeichen, erst beim zweiten Klick öffnet sich dann der gesamte Post. Muss noch experimentieren, wie viel Text in der erweiterten Vorschau angezeigt werden soll.

Dieses Feature gibt es seit einiger Zeit auch auf X, das sich Richtung längere Posts entwickelt, und ist sehr praktisch.

Auch das angekündigte Geo-Location-Update ist jetzt online.

Insgesamt ist das Projekt wesentlich aufwendiger geworden, als ich am Anfang dachte, obwohl ich fast alles mit KI (grok build) generiere. Der Geschwindigkeitszuwachs ist enorm, aber eine hive Social Media App komplett neu zu entwickeln ist umfangreicher, als ich dachte.

I’ve now rebranded the new Crypto Space app to Cyber Space 77. It wasn’t an easy decision, but I think it’s better to rebrand as early as possible, since it gets harder and harder later on. It should be still possible during the alpha phase. The goal is to reach a larger audience, since there are also many non-crypto users active on Hive. This is a similar insight that Leofinance / Inleo also came to.

Otherwise, there are plenty of quality-of-life updates and bug fixes again. 3speak embeds should now work, and I’ve implemented a new post-reading mode similar to the one on X.

When you click on the text in a post preview, an expanded text preview with a maximum of 1,000 characters opens first; only after a second click does the entire post open. I still need to experiment with how much text should be displayed in the expanded preview.

This feature has also been available on X for some time—as X is moving toward longer posts—and it’s very handy.

The announced geolocation update is now live as well.

Overall, the project has turned out to be much more time-consuming than I initially thought, even though I generate almost everything using AI (grok build). The speed boost is enormous, but developing a hive social media app from scratch is more extensive than I anticipated.
