Was meint ihr?

There is currently a power struggle between Coinbase, the White House, and traditional banks over whether crypto exchanges such as Coinbase will be allowed to pay interest on stablecoins in the future.
If it were up to the banks, they would like to prevent this, as they probably see it as competition to their own business model.
On the other hand, it is common practice in DeFi to receive rewards for staking tokens.
Traditional banks could also jump on the stablecoin bandwagon and offer similar products.
I think that, overall, competition from DeFi will stimulate the banking business and banks will not be able to ignore this trend forever.
What do you think? Which side do you think will prevail? Have you staked stablecoins or crypto on exchanges?
This idea is the same as if you were to tell your neighbor that he can't milk his cows anymore, because he can process the milk better then you and then because your sales are not going well anymore when he sells all and you are stuck for old time. Now all the neighbors are going to shut down their production because one idiot can't keep up with the competition. This is why banks and the US have a stupid habit of owning everything, they can't compete with a real free market.
They've had decades to improve their tech and interest rates, and now that Coinbase is eating their lunch, they want the government to step in. I've staked stablecoins before, and honestly, once you see those daily rewards hitting your account, it's hard to go back to a traditional savings account that offers basically nothing.
