Das linke Pedal konnte ich selber abschrauben, beim rechten abgebrochenen Pedal habe ich mich aber anfangs in der Richtung geirrt und konnte es dann nicht mehr abschrauben, da ich keinen geeigneten Schlüssel hatte. Habe es dann zu einer Werkstatt gebracht, die mir geholfen haben es abzuschrauben.

Mittlerweile weiß ich, in welche Richtung sich die Pedale ab und anschrauben. Das sollte man vorher unbedingt recherchieren, da es ein wenig trickreich ist.

Das linke Pedal wird nämlich in die andere Richtung ab und angeschraubt als das rechte.

Das hat damit zu tun, dass sich, wenn man geradeaus fährt, die linke Pedalkurbel gegen den Uhrzeigersinn dreht, die rechte aber im Uhrzeigersinn.

Das Gewinde der Pedale sind so konstruiert, dass sich während der Fahrt die Pedale beim Treten nicht selbständig abschrauben.

Das heißt, wenn sich die rechte Kurbel im Uhrzeigersinn (nach rechts) dreht, wird das Pedal ebenfalls im Uhrzeigersinn (nach rechts) angeschraubt, obwohl sich das Pedal selbst beim Treten nach links bewegt. Das ist etwas verwirrend.

Auf der linken Seite ist es genau umgekehrt, als man das von normalen Schrauben gewohnt ist.

Zum Abschrauben benötigt man übrigens viel Kraft und am besten einen langen 15mm Schraubenschlüssel mit viel Hebelwirkung.

Viele Pedale haben auf der Rückseite übrigens noch einen 6mm oder 8mm Inbus-Sockel. Für diesen bräuchte man aber ein Spezialwerkzeug mit viel Hebelwirkung.

Am besten ist es, einen normalen 15mm langen Schraubenschlüssel zu verwenden. Es gibt aber auch eigene Fahrrad-Pedalschlüssel, die für das An- und Abschrauben optimiert sind.

Beim Anschrauben der Pedale muss man übrigens unbedingt darauf achten, dass man das linke und rechte Pedal auf der richtigen Seite montiert, da sich die Pedale sonst während der Fahrt lösen können.

Jedes Pedal hat eine Kennzeichnung, meistens mit R und L, ob es das rechte oder das linke Pedal ist. Das rechte Pedal ist auf der Seite der Kette bzw. rechts, wenn man auf dem Fahrrad sitzt.

Habe mit ChatGPT noch eine Grafik generiert, damit ihr euch die richtige Schraubrichtung merken könnt. Die KI hat sich übrigens bei den Richtungen geirrt, obwohl ich es im Prompt explizit angegeben habe. Musste die Pfeile dann manuell bearbeiten.
