Schlechte Nachrichten für die EU als FinTech-Hub. Anscheinend steht das MiCA-Lizenzverfahren von Binance, das in Griechenland beantragt wurde, kurz vor der Kippe.

Das hat weitreichende Folgen, schon ab 1. Juli 2026 könnten EU-Bürger nicht mehr Binance zum Handeln von Kryptowährungen nutzen.

Zugriff auf die Assets wäre aber weiterhin möglich, um die Assets zum Beispiel auf eine andere Exchange oder die eigene Wallet zu transferieren.

Binance ist die größte Krypto-Börse weltweit und die Ablehnung einer MiCA-Lizenz würde bedeuten, dass es in der EU wesentlich weniger Player geben wird.

Das könnte zur Folge haben, dass es weniger Konkurrenz, höhere Kosten und letztendlich weniger Innovation im europäischen FinTech-Business geben wird.

Insgesamt könnte das auch dazu führen, dass EU-Bürger insgesamt weniger in Kryptos, Aktien und generell in Wertpapiere investieren und die EU dadurch im Vergleich zu anderen Regionen zunehmend zurückfallen wird, da die EU-Bürger durch restriktivere Regulierung und erschwerten Zugang weniger am international wichtigen Kapitalmarkt teilhaben werden. Auch das negative Sentiment in den Mainstream-Medien trägt dazu bei.

Auf der anderen Seite ist ein gewisses, vernünftiges Maß an Regulierung sinnvoll, um Anleger vor Betrug zu schützen, kriminelle Aktivitäten zu verhindern und Rechtssicherheit zu schaffen.
