I’ve always used an Italian-style coffee maker. The problem is that you have to make sure it doesn’t have a plastic coating or plastic paint. That’s a common issue with canned food.

Yeah many products have plastic coatings or plastic seals, it's really hard to avoid plastic but not impossible if you are conscious about it.
