Resumption Begins Before the First Bell

The new school session is behind in just two days, and when it comes to me, I've come to the understanding that resumption doesn't begin on the first day the students walk into the school gate; it starts before that. And that's exactly how it is; three days ago we, the staff, had our presumption meeting and were given different statutory books needed for the new session. Since then I've been working on getting myself prepared for the new session, mentally and physically, by writing my lesson notes, documenting students' names in necessary booklets, among many others.

And that's why I've been getting myself ready for work in these past few days. First, I indulge in doing the laundry, after which I begin ironing my clothes so I can make sure I look decent from the very first day of resumption. Aside from that, after completing that task, I also start writing and arranging my lesson notes, which doesn't just start from writing, because I first had to go through the scheme of work and explore new innovation in those subjects before finally putting pen to paper.

After that comes the past that many people that are not inclined about the classroom ways might not know, which is writing down students' names in the mark books. Doing this helps me stay prepared for the new session, because I'll need the mark book to take students' attendance during my period and would also need it to document students' scores immediately. I gave them a welcome test for the new session. I love doing all of these before the first day of school because I don't like walking into a new session completely unprepared, and that's why I usually write all these and also go through everything to be sure my recordings are updated.

Aside from all of these, it's worth noting that teaching doesn't start when you stand in front of the classroom to teach; it actually begins way before that, and that's why I often prepare myself for the new session, just like I did today, to go through the session scheme of work, read to get myself acquainted with each detail, and then organize all I need, such as lesson notes, instructional materials, and the like. In two days' time, that's on Monday, a new academic session will begin, and I want to stand out in all I do, and I also want to set a positive example for the students I'm supposed to impact with valuable academic and moral knowledge.

At the moment I'm still in the mood of preparation. Today alone I've washed, ironed, read, and now edited my digital lesson notes, so I'm almost ready for the new academic sessions. Let's go breed excellent children that'll influence our society positively in the nearest future.
