Artisan Ice Cream In Almuñécar

A little change in our plans

While we were wandering through Almuñécar a week ago, we didn't feel like looking for a place to sit and pay a lot. We were already hungry because we initially sat down at a hotel where they serve food which is not amazing but very affordable and the terrace there is so relaxing. This time it was filled with a bus full of tourists and they were so loud that I was only getting stressed from sitting there. We only had a drink and continued our journey to the second flea market.

No gems found

For the first time in a while, we bought nothing, but being out was already worth it. When we ended our second market stroll we were so hungry that the easiest thing to do was go back to the fish and chips place we visited on Palm Sunday as well. We were pleasantly surprised and it was not expensive.

Disappointed

The location was still great and I was happy to sit there for an hour or so, but this time they served fries soaked in oil and that's always going to get at least one stomach upset, lol. We decided we needed to eat something else before going back as we all skipped breakfast so before heading back to our province, a little more food was desired.

Finding back that cute little square

As we remembered there were loads of little bars and restaurants and this time the centre was definitely not packed like it was that other Sunday. The little one was fed up and wanted a cookie or ice cream so when we found the cute square back, we treated her on this ice cream from an artisan ice cream shop.

Expensive but good

You could see the ice creams were of high quality and even though this means it's expensive, I was happy and grateful to sit there in the sun for a bit, taking in the vitamin D while our kid was happy with her ice cream, but not so happy to share it with us! Do you see that cute background there?

The most adorable restaurant

We already noticed this last time but it was loaded with people and it also had tables in front that week. While sitting there waiting for her to finish the ice cream, I decided to check the menu of the restaurant online, I asked my boyfriend to walk inside to check for a table because with just 1,5 hours left on the clock of opening time, I actually expected us to be out of luck.

Free table!

We were lucky, there was a free table and while he ordered a beer and waited inside for us, I stayed with our daughter while she was finishing that ice cream. Surely she wasn't hungry anymore because that ice cream was not only huge but heavy. But that's ok, she is easily satisfied if we eat something and is allowed to play a game on the phone.

How that visit went I will share in another post because all I can say is that that was the best surprise in the area so far. It was that good!
