I've been doing this online business stuff for a long time...
And there are so many reasons why some people succeed and others fail. I've seen it all in my time! Everyone's situation is different, and it's obvious that success isn't guaranteed, however one of the more peculiar reasons I've seen people fail is...
They don't WANT to succeed!
Huh?
Let me explain....
When you start an online business, or decide that this content creation gig is something you want to do, you become...A target.
Your products, services, content and businesses are now in the public eye and with that comes, well....Critics.
The fingers get pointed, the blame gets thrown around, the 'you should have done this' comments are everywhere. Being an entrepreneur in this day and age isn't all that glamorous, especially when it comes to the critics.
And truth me told, it's VERY easy to sit on the sidelines and be a critic. Heck, I'm a fantastic Monday morning quarterback....But I'm not the one putting on the pads and getting my butt kicked every Sunday (to use a sports reference lol)
Or as the famous quote by best selling author Brene Brown goes....
(Image Source: My own dang creative juices using Canva!!!!)
Again....Very easy to be a critic. A lot harder putting yourself out there!
And that's why people seem to shy away from being...Out there!
They don't want the critics. They avoid being in the public eye as much as possible because they fear...Creating something, attracting a critic, and hearing something damaging that will hurt their confidence to show up tomorrow!
That's why that quote from Brene is so important for all of us to really hammer home. Critics come! They are a dime a dozen, and if you are out there creating they WILL find you and let you know that you didn't do something they think you should have.
Fantastic! Embrace it!
To bring it back to a sports reference again, this is a full contact sport and not a spectator sport. You will get kicked and you will get hit! Accept it and let the critics roll off your back because when you are out there creating and building, the side lines are always watching.
Easier said than done, I understand. Especially if you are just starting up. However something to consider if you are serious about this online business and content creation stuff is...
99% of your competition...Shy away from being in the spot light. They just, don't want to attract the critics. And that makes it easier for you, to be noticed in the crazy noise that is social media!
It all comes back to....Do you love what you do? Are you passionate about it? Do you feel like you have something the world would benefit from?
Perfect....Let's get to work and don't 'forget' the critics. Be grateful they are there and know they will never have the courage you do to create and build amazing things online!

I think having a consistent efforts is something a lot of people need to do as an entrepreneur. We do like put in efforts and when there are no returns we kind of a give up. So I think on Hive you just have to put in effort and let the efforts stick in so that it can start to give us results as each of those efforts starts unfolding. Being consistent is a bit difficult though.
That's so easy to say but as we can see, harder to do. People make up excuses about why they cannot succeed here, but it comes down to one simple fact...They gave up.

I wakeup every day excited to work on my next post while engaging and contributing to the 'place to be' on the blockchain. That kind of passion can't be faked and is a result of making a soft landing here after my content was stolen on Blogger. Even now, I have some ideas bouncing around on what to write next, and each completed post makes me a better blogger and content creator. So let's all get out there and CREATE something! :)
For sure, such amazing opportunities...My problem now is playing too much Splinterlands instead of creating more content lolol

So true. Keep turning up and creating.
Can't stop, won't stop!

It takes courage to do what the majority won't do, content creation is not easy, it takes a lot of creative thinking as well as writing to keep your audience regularly fed.
As for the critics, may they carry on criticizing.

Yeah, I've been doing this so long Im used to it. Just today some guy decided to take a shot at us while he powered down to 'leave' Hive. It happens all the time lol

You do not have to be afraid. It is replaced by decision and tenacity. This is how the goals are achieved.
Never scared ;)

Well, being a critic is easy, this is why I exactly think no one can understand the process, the experience or even the lessons, unless they're out there fighting and competing. Critics are welcomed though, I do not think I fear them.
Just means you are just doing something that is being noticed. Keep creating and enjoy the critics :)

Thanks man, it's great to always read your contents, makes one easily inspired.
Once you start a business, all the responsibility is on you and I am not really sure I am ready for that yet. It's tough but I guess in a way, Hive is a business. It will grow based on what I put in.

That's the mindset for sure, at least how I'm approaching things here. Enjoyable, but still a business mindset!

I love the sports reference. You can't be seen if you're not out in the field playing and being out in the field means you're going to be a target. So most just stay on the sidelines and do the talking lol.
We're all pointing the fingers at our favorite teams in sports...A lot harder to actually put on the shoes and get in the game lol

Sometimes all it really takes to keep going is having one person solidly on your side. Particularly if you're in a niche area of interest. There's a lot of things I post that don't get a ton of interaction - which is cool, I'm into really niche geeky shit like solo tabletop games, dnd, and writing/worldbuilding. They're topics that aren't for everyone, and occasionally there are critics of my approach to some of my hobbies. That's cool, you do you fam, and I'm going to keep doing this thing my way because it's shit I love and I want others to love it too, even if they do things differently.
I think that's brilliant. Long tail content stuff. Won't attract the masses, but you'll find a niche market and you'll thrive within it.

The crazy thing about it is that I was about to share that exact same Brene Brown quote on my social media last night. It is true though, it's all one big grind you just have to keep pushing through!
Her 'Daring Greatly' was a fantastic book. Really enjoyed it.

they all say it's scary until they become multi billionaire and they stop giving a crap :P

There no how you'll do without getting critics all we need is to be after the success and achieve our goal.

Man, you are the definition of consistency though!! Regardless, you are always showing up!

Nice prep talk. Not meaning to offend, but I was wondering... Just how successful are you?
I have my health, I work from home and get to see my kids grow up every day, I love what I do and I am building on the greatest blockchain online.
To me, that's as successful as it gets personally lol

Loved your answer, true success then mate 👌

I've learned that it's impossible to please everyone and we shouldn't even try. Some people will always have a negative attitude and criticise and I only try to deal with people where the critic is actually proposing something useful rather just saying what is bad...
